Dr. Rios is truly exceptional! He was absolutely wonderful with my son--patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made both us feel comfortable throughout the entire visit. His relatable nature and sense of humor helped ease any nervousness, and he connected with my son in a way that was both reassuring and uplifting. His staff were also fantastic--kind, professional, and very efficient. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth and positive. I'm so grateful for the care we received. Highly recommend Dr. Rios and his team to any parent looking for a pediatric cardiologist!

I'm so grateful for DCH, I know some may have bad experiences with them but let me tell you, these doctors literally go out of there way, (Ex. Dr Rios Pediatric cardiology) we had an appointment yesterday with one of my daughters she's been having some chest pains, overall everything looked normal for her, she does have to wear a heart monitor for 3 days but ekg X-rays & heart look normal . As you know when you see a specialist you have to list family's medical history, Dr Rios came across her siblings chart who is disabled & asked her dad & I if we could chat about her, she has a specific diagnosis (Scimitar syndrome) we've known about this diagnosis since 2015, one procedure was done for that specific syndrome, baby Sarah has other diagnosis prior to that, like with her esophagus, that was our MAIN priority aTM. Dr Rios was very knowledgeable asking us had we had a CATH conference with the heart center or with her cardiologist, I was very blunt with him & real I told him honestly, this scimitar syndrome gets put on the back burner only because everytime we go to cardiology or to get cleared for surgery, the doctors always tell us she's fine or she's "ok" he goes what does that mean to you as parents? Like will she be fine or okay the rest of her life will something be done about this? Dr Rios, that same day reached out to the head of cardiology at Driscoll & the director of Driscoll Children's Hospital, I got a phone call last night around 6:30 getting everyone up to date, they told me, they will have to look into the schedule to fit baby Sarah in, I just got off the phone with them & there gonna continue to do the test and get us the CATH conference we need about this syndrome we go back to Driscoll on Monday! I'm just grateful because Sarah was not even his patient or even present & Dr Rios did what he could for her & our family also, just to save yall on Google Scimitar Syndrome is a rare congenital heart defect that causes partial or complete drainage of the right lung to the inferior vena cava. The name comes from the curved shadow that the anomalous pulmonary vein makes on a chest X-ray, which resembles a scimitar, a curved sword from the Middle East y'all! If you have children or a child who sees cardiology or needs to get referred to a cardiologist Dr Rios is your guy! God bless you sir & I sure did call him today & let him know how grateful I am for him! Just one phone call literally changed everything!
