Cardiology Associates of Corpus Christi: Gabor Szalai, MD

Dr Szalai saved my life. Within minutes to spare upon arriving by ambulance, I was rushed to the emergency room where my ejection fraction was down to 5% output. He inserted a stent and balloon into my arteries to help push blood through my heart. That was seven months ago. My ejection fraction is now at 35% because of the damage done to my left ventricle due to time wasted getting to the hospital after four hours of driving through empty desert. Edit 1/25/22. I must update my review. I was adimant with the receptionist that she put me through to the person who makes his appointments. I explained I needed a pre-surgery clearance that was time sensitive. She put me on hold, came back and told me that Monica would pick me up asap. Monica promptly made me an appointment for the next business day. They had noted all of my previous calls. So the old saying that 'the squeaky wheel gets the grease" still hold true. Back to 5 stars. Dr. Szalai is a very good cardiologist. However don't expect to be able to schedule an appointment when you call. You will be put on hold for the appointment scheduler. Then you will be told to expect a call back that will not come until after you call back a 2nd time. This is very unprofessional and not in step with a top notch doctor.. For this reason I gave 3 stars instead of 5 .

Dr. Szalai displayed the upmost form of passion for his craft. He's genuinely hands-on, respectful, and expresses great humility. I highly recommend him.

After waiting a month for my appointment he canceled at the last minute costing my family over 500$ in lost wages .. ALL because he couldn't keep his appointment.. Avoid this office at all cost..
