Amit Prasad, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Prasad's for 6 years, ever since the day he saved my life with his expert intervention to insert two heart stents after a heart attack. I will continue to be his patient for as long as he'll have me. He is a knowledgeable, intelligent doctor who always goes above and beyond in providing care to his patient. It pains me considerably to see the rating of this fine physician (who warrants 5 stars in my book!) dragged down by complaints about the staff. I understand the deserved criticism, but it should not reflect on this doctor. He deserves better support, too. I recommend this doctor without reservation and would follow him wherever he may go in the future.

Dr Prasad is amazing and provides excellent care, but the office is another story. Terrible communication, scheduling, insurance issues, cancellations. In addition, they don't provide other health networks with history or medical records.

After waiting for months playing telephone tag with the office to get an appointment, I was sadly disappointed. It took two months to finally get a hold of someone to make an appointment only to get to his office and find out that I was not the schedule. They had no record of me calling to make an appointment and I have a witness who can verify I did call and make an appointment. Their unprofessionalism does not encourage to go back to this office. Needless to say two months for nothing and I must look for a new specialist. Unbelievable!

First visit was good. Second - fitted with heart monitor and told to wear it 24hrs. Brought it back the next day as instructed and turned it in. Third - Next appointment I show up over 15 minutes early, wait for over two and a half hours to realize they forgot about me. Seeing how it was too late in the day for them they could not get me in. Fourth - Scheduled my next appointment a week later to go over the results, show up early as usual waited and met with Dr. Prasad. Said I should have been fitted with heart monitor. Told him I did and they could not find the paperwork. So had to reschedule another appointment so they could find the results. Fifth - showed up to my scheduled appointment (after receiving a phone call the previous day reminding me of said appointment) to find out he is not there that day. This is not even everything just the highlights. Might not seem that bad but when you drive for over an hour to each visit it wastes so much of your day. The receptionist are not very professional or nice even when it's their mistake.

Dr Prasad is not the problem it's his staff. I have been leaving messages for weeks for a simple referral. Still waiting! I am going in person otherwise it won't get done.
