Dr. Mendola is the best cardiovascular and lung surgeon around. I highly recommend him for any of your surgical needs. He is very tentative on what you need and thorough about his work. I had a lobotomy done by him, and was comforted by him wanting to make sure to do it efficiently and making sure that I had the best recovery I could have. I was already walking and getting around the day after my surgery other than the chest tubes I was required to have I wasn't in much pain at all.10/10 highly recommend this amazing surgeon.

I had a triple bypass on the 29 of July 2024 went home 2 August. Surgery and 4 days recover time. He's the best, BUT he's fixing to retire. St e's better get us some fresh talent in or we're going to be making a lot of trips to Houston. He's number 1 on my list.

21 years ago today May 3rd, 2002, I required a 4x-by-pass heart surgery at 50 years old from major blockages. I highly recommend Dr. La Mendola's medical expertise along with the recovery care from Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital & rehab, which I could not have asked for better. Southeast Texas is fortunate having such a dedicated Thoracic Surgeon taking care of patients for decades. Still alive and well and pushing 72. Thanks, Stephen for your dedication and caring.

STEPHEN LA MENDOLA, M.D., can do surgery on me any day! This guy is extremely capable of doing a great JOB and I have nothing but respect and admiration for this doctor - who performed a couple of surgeries on my mother over the last several years. Now, we are up in Tyler due to the flood of last year thanks to Hurricane Harvey, and it was hard giving up Dr. La Mendola, as well as Eldon Sweet, but life goes on. Definitely fond memories of this doctor and would recommend him to anyone! Sharp tack in my opinion!!!
