Patient
This Cardiologist was dismissive. He refused to let me audio record, and was very aggressive about it even though I did ask. I explained to him that I have trouble with my memory and I record all of my doctors appointments. They're not to post anywhere. They are For me He still refused, and it felt like he was accusing me of recording when I wasn't. I wish I had of. All the nurses were worried about me Because my heart rate was so very high, and I had broken out and a red rash all over and I was sweating profusely. They went to grab him and he walked in ready to cut me down. He ushered out all Of the lovely nurses and techs that had been helping me Immediately after walking in...some of them didn't seem like they wanted to leave me. I felt like His posture was designed to make me feel pinned in the corner so was talking down to me. I have been sitting on the medical exam table when he walked in he told me to sit in the corner. He said he was only able to talk about what I was referred for which was vEDS and he refused to talk to me about anything else. I was referred because I I need a new Cardiologist. I also needed dental clearance and an overall check up since I have multiple cardiac conditions He told me he would order an echocardiogram. He didn't. I explained to him that I had had a brain injury, and I had trouble with fluidity of speech, but I am not dumb. He then went on to explain that my heart doesn't live in my neck!!!!! His ego is huge. He was belittling, Condescending, dehumanizing, and the reason I am still in pain. I would not recommend anyone to go to this doctor ever. I was referred to a different doctor in the same practice, but only this doctor had openings. I wonder why... :/ I left feeling traumatized, upset, frustrated, and like this man should have his license taken because he does not want to help anyone. He was so insulting and incredibly unaware. If you're a woman, i would especially discourage going to see this Cardiologist. I had the same cardiologist for many years who was a kind older man. have 3 heart murmurs, a mitral valve prolapse, tachycardia, angina, another leaking chamber with backflow issues, high blood pressure. My heart rate was in the 130s, I have POTS , VEDS, Thinning up the arterial wall and so on. These are all diagnosed by a reputable respectful and respected top Cardiologist. Dr. Kurian spoke to me like I was a child when he said "just because your chest hurts doesn't mean you're having heart pain". He was a real piece of work. Yeah, I will never go back to him and yes I knew he had already decided he wasn't going to help me from the moment he walked into the room. I still need dental clearance because I've had an exposed nerve for close to a month. I needed an updated cardiac clearance for a dentist to help me, but he couldn't even order the echocardiogram he said he would! If you wanna be gaslit. He's your guy. It's experiences like this that make people give up on doctors and medical professionals in general. Choosing to suffer in silence would be better than enduring another trip to a doctor that treats me like I'm a waste of his time and my life has no value. 0 starts. If my tooth infection spreads to my heart I hope he re-evaluates how he treats patients who come for help. No one wants to go to the doctor. He wasted my time energy and made me lose hope in getting basic medical care.
