Exceptional Emergency Center - Amarillo @ Western

I had never been to a 24 hour standalone ER. Only hospital ER's with hours long waiting in a major city. I decided to go to this ER at around 1am Sunday morning because I'm new to Amarillo. I thought it being an hour past Saturday night there'd be a few patients there. I was the only patient there. Someone arrived as I was leaving. Male nurse took me back right away. Care was excellent by nurse and Dr. Walsh. I was able to go home and feel assured I could see a specialist on Monday. I was anxious it was gonna cost $1K, but this ER charged me barely anything. It will cost me more to see a specialist. I've worked in many hospitals and in the ER's in a major TX city. This 24/7 ER was a lifesaver for me. I will return to this exact ER if I have to. I'm not from Amarillo and have given honest reviews at hospitals/ER's in another city. This is an honest review that I was not given any incentive to give. Highly recommended!

This is our go to over the main hospital ERs. It's fast, clean, and the customer service is off the charts. Jessica was our nurse and had the best bedside manner. She gave my daughter an IV without her feeling it. She is thorough with the paperwork and communication too. Tony was the radiologist, super nice, and talked her through the CT scan. Dr. Franklin was very kind, detailed, and safe in his evaluation and discharge. If you've ever sat in the hospital ER, you'll appreciate this ER option.

I won't ever go to a different urgent care clinic! This emergency center was absolutely incredible. The front staff was quick to help me with a kind and reassuring voice. We were able to go to a room before I finished filling out my paperwork which was a great relief to me. The kind staff continued to help ease me and my daughter as we learned that she had fractured her collar bone. The doctor even invited us over to his work space where my 4 year old could see her "x-bones pictures." Thank you all for being incredible. I hope we don't have another emergency, but if we do, I know where to go!

I came to the emergency room on Saturday, May 31, and the staff responded very quickly. There was one nurse in particular who was incredibly kind and dedicated. She took such thoughtful care of me and the other patients -- I truly felt safe and supported. I am deeply grateful to the entire team of doctors and nurses who worked during my visit from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and especially to that wonderful nurse on duty that day. I may not know her name, but I want to send her my heartfelt thanks. Her compassion made all the difference. Before I left, I gave her a hug and thanked her because she was so kind. I hope she gets to read this review -- and that it gives her even more motivation to continue loving the amazing work she does.

My original visit was great. The front desk ladies were young and vibrant. This recent experience that I had today was the complete opposite. I was greeted at the door with a negative attitude.. Misty did not even allow me to explain why I needed their services. Misty asked me what my purpose there was and I finished a sentence by saying for the doctor to see my daughter.. she looked me up and down and asked me if I realize that this was an emergency room center. I applied yes I believe that's what it says on the side of the building. I let her finish, and when she was finished, I explained that I was seen it yesterday by the doctor. The nurse had forgot my doctors note and since I had already had to go back and get a doctors note, they can look at the rash on her lower back.. the doctor as well as Misty, unfortunately I didn't get the doctors name, advised me that they did not check me in because they did not want me to be charged twice to be seen. (Since I was seen yesterday) The doctor told me that the skin was dry skin and that it's normal to rash when a toddler is experiencing fever. I told her that the daycare advised me that there are cases from Lubbock of chickenpox or measles. I also advised that it was suggested from my friend to get her doctor's note here.I just felt really stupid and out of place. My daughter's needs are definitely above any cost. All in all thank you to the young lively ladies for the wonderful first experience and I'm sorry, Misty but it definitely wasn't giving lively and caring. This took place 5/14/2025 @ 3:13pm
