Long story short - Dr. Soya fired my dad as a patient and lied to me over the phone. My father has been seeing Dr. Soya for several years and has always done what he told him to do. He had confidence in Dr. Soya and felt like he would listen to him as a patient and explain things well. My father needed a back surgery after many failed outpatient therapies but to do so, his surgeon requested him to be off of plavix for 9 days to have the surgery. My dad had to be cleared by Dr. Soya for surgery and was told that he would not approve him to be off of plavix for greater than five days. So I wrote an email to both Dr. Soyas office and the surgeons office to see if they could communicate with each other and possibly come to an agreement on how many days off of the plavix was truly needed and safe for my dad to have the surgery. We didn't expect to hear anything back and the surgery date came and went. We just assumed it is what it is and he wouldn't be able to have surgery. To my surprise, Dr. Soya called me personally on my cell phone on a Monday two weeks later. He was very kind and compassionate. He explained that he understood my dads pain as his dad was a construction worker. He explained to me that the risk of coming off plavix for my dad for the nine days was very low, less than 1% risk. He said if my dad would make an appointment this coming Thursday or Friday he would approve him to be off of plavix and would just have to sign a consent that my dad understands the risks. The following Tuesday my dad called to make an appointment as Dr. Soya instructed him but did not get a call back to schedule the appt. So I called on Wednesday and explained to the office staff that Dr. Soya called me personally and told me he would see my dad that Thursday or Friday. The staff was extremely rude and defensive stating that Dr. Soya can't just tell a patient when he will see them and that they can't see my dad in office that soon. I explained that the surgery date has passed so any day in the next few weeks would be fine. I was then transferred to a voicemail and explained the same information to make an appointment. That Friday we still haven't heard anything so I called again, I was transferred several times and then spoke to someone that explained that my dad will not be able to make an appointment there and will have to find a new cardiologist at a different practice. When asking why, I was told that a certified letter is on the way explaining why. Sure enough the following week, my dad received the letter telling him that he was fired as a patient of Dr. Soyas office and the entire cardiology group for unrealistic expectations. The whole situation was extremely frustrating. As a healthcare worker, I have always loved Dr. Soya. His patients typically love him. But this is a side I have never seen. I will never recommend anyone to go to that group again.

We were told Dr. Hernandez could not see my wife at her first appointment because of politics. She was seen by Dr. Soya 5 years ago therfore she would have to start as a new patient. Dr. Soya's office did not return our phone calls, so she decided to see a new Dr. So hurting another doctor's feelings is more important than my wife's heart problems.

Dr. Soya is awesome!! He is caring, explains things, knew me outside his office setting. When I spoke to him about my mother, he got had an appointment set up.

After many happy years of being a patient of Dr. Soya's, I needed for the Dr. to sign off on a surgical release for scheduled hip replacement on May20,2024. I delivered that form to his office the day I got it approx. 2 weeks before surgery. I called his office the Friday before my surgery on Mon. and was horrified to hear from his painfully arrogant nurse that the Dr. had been unable to sign off on that form letter before he left town. I no choice but to rely on my Primary Care doctor's input to go forward with the scheduled surgery. The following week I received 2 copies of the same letter (1 by CERTIFIED MAIL!!) telling me that Soya had released me as a patient because of my "unrealistic expectations!" In retrospect I am grateful this happened because it saved me the unpleasant task of firing HIM and his hateful staff. Note to The Good Doctor: Your time IS NOT more important than mine. And if you think it is, YOU HAVE LOST YOUR WAY.
