Dr. Ramaiah is an excellent surgeon. He spent extensive time going through options with me and explained each phase of my surgery thoroughly and thoughtfully. Also just very pleasant to deal with... he's a thoughtful and wonderful person. So glad that I was in his care for heart bypass surgery.

As someone who has spent years in and out of hospitals and doctors, Dr. Ramaiah is the best doctor/specialist I've ever had. I was born with a congenital heart defect and had no idea until the moment he told us, and at the same time, he said I needed emergency open-heart surgery. What I loved the most was that he wasn't there to lie to me, he was there to help me understand why this was so urgent. He calmed me without knowing he was calming me. Unfortunately, I had a complication and we realized 21 days after my first open heart surgery that I would need a second open heart surgery... but until he had all the answers he kept me in the hospital because he was fearful I could have a heart attack due to this complication. He didn't care about my insurance possibly demanding I leave or fall to pressure from the hospital "higher ups". He only cares about his patient. How lucky I am to be that patient. Thank you, Dr. Ramaiah! Thank you for saving my life!

My experience at St Thomas West was great All The housekeeping cafeteria nursing cardiologist and surgeons staff was just great. It's difficult to get excited about having open heart surgery but the good people there make it a lot better and I appreciate them all.

I was extremely pleased with the quadruple bypass and valve repair surgery done by Dr. Ramaiah. I felt like I was in good hands every step of the process. I am 5 weeks post surgery and the recovery is going very well. One thing I never considered was the resulting scar from the 8-9 inch chest incision. I joined an online support group and have seen many people share their incision / scar. I feel so fortunate as Dr. Ramaiah and his team did a great job of closing up my incision. At 5 weeks post surgery it is flat and healing so well. I think it will be almost invisible when fully healed. I highly recommend Dr. Ramaiah for your cardiac surgery.
