Patient Reviews

Patient

This doctor gets zero stars. I have been a Registered Nurse for 14 years, 10 of which I spent working at Ascension hospital and never ran into a doctor like this. He dismissed all my concerns. Told me if I pay less attention to my symptoms they will go away. I would never say to ignore chest pain, dizziness, passing out. Told me to eat junk food to increase my sodium intake. Then complained about his partners at Ascension heart for even sending me to him. He didn't bring anything like a computer or chart in the room. Then proceeded to ask me what I take daily for medicine. After I told him, he told me to stop all my medication. Also would never tell a patient to do that. At the end of visit he told me to not think about my symptoms and said "good luck". Biggest jerk I have ever met. Now I have to pay for a visit that was nothing short of making me worse. I left in tears. Please don't see this doctor, he is terrible!

I needed to establish a new cardiologist since I recently moved to the area. Dr McPike and the entire St Thomas Ascencion staff were very pleasant and personable. I am quite confident I have found the best cardiologist in the area for my needs.

I had a massive cardiac pulmonary embolism two months ago due to a surgery that I had a month prior and which they failed to give me any blood thinners, but told me to be a mobile for over six weeks. All follow up visits have showed no heart problems. There's no heart problems in the family and we went to Dr. McPike because the cardiologist I was seeing the hospital referred me to him. When I went to him all he did was tell me that I needed a pacemaker and if I didn't have one, I would probably die did not explain any reason why or this is something we should keep an eye on, just said that I might have pass out in the kitchen one day while making a sandwich so if you want to go to a doctor that will give you logical explanations on why you need the care and not just somebody that belittles you when you don't follow their advice then go to Dr. McPike as for me I won't be going back

I've had nothing but great experiences with Dr. McPike. He installed a defibrillator for me just yesterday. I have also had the same great experiences with others in the practice.

I was very pleased with Dr. McPike. He put to rest my suspicion about my having light headiness. He said it was rather my BP. I notice it badly when BP is low and have to be very careful not to fall. I'm wondering if my dosage of losartan maybe should be lowered???
