University Cardiology The University of Tennessee

The office and cardiologist is very good. Getting a hold of the office is almost impossible. I was on hold for a total of 12 minutes. I gave up. I don't know if their phones are screwed up or what, but it is a nightmare to call the office. There is no nurse line for assistance if you have a question. I think they can do better. They are just SO BUSY. I understand they try.

U T. CARDIOLOGY is AMAZING. Dr. Shepple and Caroline Brown are the very best in the world. I have NEVER had a problem at this office. Gina, Dr. Shepple's former MA, was the most amazing person I have ever met. There are not enough words that can describe these wonderful people.

This review is in regards to the Electrophysiologists, Dr. Hersh and Dr. Mahlow. While admitted at UT for a heart condition I have suffered from for nearly nine years, Dr. Hersh seen me. I had never met this doctor before and upon him entering my hospital room, quickly I realized he is a very arrogant and condescending man. He had me in tears with his rude demeanor and unnecessary remarks. He stated that every doctor I have seen for my heart was wrong and he is the right one, degraded my diagnosis and telling me there is no cure for my problem, that is something I will have to live with. He completely trashed my nine years worth of history after knowing me for five minutes. He then told me "it's not like you can work so you may as well get on disability". When I in fact do work. Reflecting on this occasion, I can now see that everything went further downhill when I told him I do not have insurance. Aside from his rude remarks in person, the notes he wrote were far from the truth and quite frankly rude. The things he wrote have ruined my record. I am in the process of having them removed from my record because they are not the truth. Today, I had the terrible pleasure of meeting Dr. Mahlow, while he was somewhat more professional than Hersh, he took sides with his fellow coworker and told me that he has known Hersh for years and "he might have been having a bad day". And also told me "You cant afford $70 a month for a prescription, really?" when I confronted him on my medication being unaffordable.He claimed I have "seen too many doctors so he doesn't know what to do for me", when mind you, I saw one cardiology group in FL and I have only ever seen UT Cardiology during my one year of living in TN. UT Cardiology and the patient advocate division is aware of Dr. Hersh's behavior and maltreatment, but it appears to be a reoccurrence with all their male doctors. Perhaps me being a woman is the problem, as I was told he mainly treats his women patients like this. Or perhaps having no insurance makes them believe I am not worthy of respect. The only Dr I can recommend here is Dr. Isaang, who has treated me with respect and dignity, unlike the others. While there are a few good apples in this bunch, I can not recommend this Cardiology group.

It's impossible to schedule an appointment. We get a recording saying we must be courteous and they have the right to do whatever they please. This morning when I called I was told no one was in an office with the ability to schedule something. Really no one. How very frustrating. But I will continue to be courteous no matter how rude their office staff is

I am admitted to UT Knoxville. This Cardiology staff went out of its way to make sure the Electrophysiologist wouldn't see me. The Hospitalist even consulted the EP to come see me and Cardiology went out of their way to stop it. I've been dealing with some pretty serious Arrhythmia issues along with passing out, chest pressure and pain, dizziness, headaches, palpitations, and extreme fatigue. It's absolutely absurd that given their own words verbally and in writing they would do this. Such a shame.
