Losing my mother, Cheryl, at Williamson Medical Center has left a permanent hole in my heart. What happened during her care has been extremely painful for my family and me to process. We truly believe that mistakes were made and that her treatment could have been handled with more care and oversight. Watching her condition decline after what should have been a recovery period was devastating. She was getting better until a little tiny Nurse tech who was pregnant helped her move without a walker. My Mom Cheryl had been using a walker daily and getting better. The little pregnant girl didn't use it and my Mom fell, causing her to decline! Now my Mom is gone. I wanted to move my Mom to a level one trauma care facility @ Vanderbilt in Nashville which the nurse Sherry said they were equipped to take care of my mother and coerced us to keep her there. They kept her on a TPN for 62 days. Forced us to move her to the 3rd floor after being in the ICU and took her oxygen away from her that was promised to stay. They also gave her an opioid that is not supposed to be given to patient with GI surgeries. That is what caused her to die.
I'm sharing this because I want accountability and awareness. Families place deep trust in medical staff, and that trust must be honored with compassion, vigilance, and clear communication. My hope is that Williamson Medical Center will review what happened and make necessary changes to ensure that no other family has to experience this level of heartbreak.
My mother's life mattered. She was a woman of faith, love, and strength -- and she deserved better.
On top of all this, my Dad continues to pay her medical bills at this pc of crap hospital. Don't go to this hospital if you want to live!

Unfortunately I spend too much time in emergency rooms. But this leaves me uniquely qualified to rate them. I was there this week for an internal infection from a chronic disease. The staff at the front desk got me in fast, and the triage nurse Kerrie had me checked in in minutes. Grace, my nurse and Brooke the PA were efficient, compassionate, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Jason the CAT scan guy was friendly and knew his job. The dude who transported me to the scan was a nice young guy originally from Egypt. I felt well cared for and treated with dignity and respect.

I'm not sure why this facility has such poor reviews. They have been extremely helpful and always up-front. I'm extremely grateful for their help. Their EMTs saved my life! I will always be grateful for Williamson.
If you are ever in need of a life-saving emergency room, be grateful that you got to go to Williamson.

The ER doctor initially refused to address my emergency saying I needed to follow up with my PCP. I informed the doctor my PCP said to go to ER if my issue became severe enough. I have ovarian cysts that are at risk of torsion. Perhaps if I had a female provider in ER, the situation would have been better. I was at home writhing in pain and felt like I was going to pass out- no one wants to go to ER at 4 a.m. I have a high pain tolerance, so if I admit defeat to pain- its pretty bad. The doctor was rude, said it was close to the end of his shift, asked why I wasn't addressing the pain on outpatient basis. I had to go into an explanation as to why I came to the ER instead of just being treated. And I had a broken foot already on top of it. The doctor showed zero empathy, raised his voice, questioned my motives. I was in tears & frustrated. I've never been treated that badly before. Then a couple days later I found out my insurance had terminated and would not help cover the visit. I applied for financial assistance with the hospital, provided all the necessary documentation. The paperwork shows my banking in negative due to losing my job unexpectedly. I was denied financial assistance and the business office said its because last year's tax return shows I made more money. BUT going off this yr, here & now, I lost my job, insurance, banking is in negative, how am I to afford a payment plan for a hospital when I can't even afford living day to day. There is zero compassion at this hospital. I've never received such poor care by the providers, being questioned & ridiculed for showing up to ER for help, then refusal to assist someone in a financial hardship. People fall into financial hardships and need help, but the business office refused to help- said theyd send my to collections. Like why are you even in business if you don't care about people. People have emergency situations- I'm sorry it was the end of your shift, its not about you. Going to the ER is a last resort for me, but after this experience, I never want to deal with this hospital again. I'd rather die at home writhing in pain than risk being ridiculed, judged, and treated poorly.
