Dr. Leonard Hays, MD, Cardiologist

My husband has heart problems in his mid thrities. No other doctor thought it was his heart. He was a very serious and large blockage in a difficult spot in his artery. Dr Hays saved his life. He later had more blockages and again Dr Hays was excellent. He's wonderful with families, explains things, is very thorough, and I can say for a fact that he cares about his patients. He gets to know you and develop a relationship with you. When you see him, you know you're not just a chart....you are a person. He will not stop until he helps you. One great plus is that he does testing in the office so you don't have to go to the main hospital to have it done. I've never met a doctor as caring, as thorough, as knowledgeable, talented, and overall amazing as Dr Hays. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff!

Prior to my referral to Dr. Hays in summer of 2019, I was without any known issues with my heart health until January 24, 2019, I sustained my first A-Fib event just a couple of weeks before my 80th birthday. I was very interested in my heart health and how I needed to understand what all of my heart education was in store for me going forward. From that dissatisfaction with an earlier cardiologist, Dr. Hays was recommended to me by my dermatologist and a local patient friend for a long term doctor relation. At the first appointment in August, 2019, Dr. Hays ordered monitor testing, followed by tread mill test, ekg and echo cardiogram testings, all necessary looks into my heart system. I was impressed with his interest in seeing what treatment was necessary for me. During my follow-up appointments and testing to begin the best medications for my treatments, Dr Hays was very specific in my treatments for the long haul. I had no complaints as to his explanations nor his office routine. His nurse attendants were always courteous and helpful with any other issues with my health needs. I would recommend Dr. Hays to any persons in needs of a truly matter of fact type medical doctor, who speaks to his patients in a clear manner. At the time of this review, I have just received Dr. Hays letter informing all his patients, he was leaving his practice for a new stage of his life. I am so unhappy at the loss of my cardiologist's management of my personal heart issues, as well as many other patients have (I presume!).

No wi-fi. Receptionist/staff very unfriendly. Not helpful at all. Sign on the window says it is against federal law to open it. That is the first of many "issues." Dr always runs late. Never see the same staff here from year to year so it is hard to establish a repor.

Wonderful Doctor, very informed, great communicator and old school bedside manor that makes the patient comfortable. Very glad my kid has him as their cardiologist:)

first visit I thought OK then I had a cath he ordered meds that I couldn't take that I have adverse reactions to because of the reactions he was going to have me committed he did no post op care even though I was sick have records to back it up he is a rotten Dr may God show you mercy if you have to have him.
