ER absolute worse... Amazed, I have to give a star to leave a review of the care received... I came in for severe stomach pains, the attending doctor said it was a blockage/possible, I had prior surgeries here; years ago, for said condition..Unprofessional from start to finish with this staff, RN draws blood from my IV with saline running in it to send to lab, because she cant find a vein, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, I finally told her enough, get someone in here that can perform the job (5 times IS overkill), a different RN came in, did the IV with no issue, the RN said she had to call lab to pick up my blood, apologies said they where taking their time to get it, my blood had clotted as said? So the need to do this 3 more times before lab shows up to take more blood (in which, she goes side ways into my vein to draw blood (blew the vein) but got blood, wow!, the room I was in had prior patients care/ trash on the floor/cabinet, doctor leaning on the eating tray addressing me about past health issues (my pain is a 8 by this point), saw him twice in 4 hours (wasn't busy, actually slow for an ER, makes complete sense to me now, as of why!), my blood pressure kept spiking; alerting staff, the RN came in and silenced it for the next 3 hrs, must have bothered her... I was in severe pain (4 hours) no meds for relief or any staff to ask me if i was okay or needed anything, besides the Benadryl/steroids for CT scan... But was abruptly insistent/timely on getting my insurance for this ridiculous care.. I could go on and on, but honestly, the only good comes out of this is future patients read these reviews... I wish I had... The manner of quality, care and professionalism of this facility has been duly noted for any future medical issues that I may have... I work hard for my health insurance, but its excellent health insurance, no complaints there... But, I do have a standard/ choice as to who/what kind of care I receive, along with my insurance company and self being billed for this type of poor quality...
As they say, but did you survive? Absolutely, but to never make this mistake twice...

I have had some really bad experiences at another Ballad facility when my Mother was in a bad way. Direct rudeness and no compassion. I dreaded going to Bristol Regional or any other Ballad facility. This was my first time at this facility. What i received from this team was exceptional care and respect. Great bunch doin a great job.

Went in because I feel like i was having absent seizures all day. Came in at 10pm. Didn't leave until after 3am. Waiting room bathroom was covered in puke. When I called for my nurse, the lady at the desk was rude and immediately hung up on me. Liquid was on the floor. Looks like a pee stain on one of the chairs. My nurse though was really sweet and lovely

My time in the Bristol Regional MC was the worst experience I've ever had, in a ballad facility. I had health concerns for 4-5 months, prior to my ER visit. Two days before I went in, I was diagnosed with chronic appendicitis. My surgeon was also concerned about my gallbladder after studying my Ct scans and ultrasound. She scheduled me for a hida scan, but in the mean time my symptoms were getting worse. With the potential for my appendix to rupture, I didn't want to just tough it out at home and take the chance. It was late on a Saturday night, I was in excruciating pain and my only option was to go to the ER at that time. I was first greeted by a nurse who talked like an automated machine. Asked me how my day was. I giggled and said "it could definitely be better".. her response - "that's good" with no facial expression or real thought behind her eyes. The other nurses were in no rush to get me set up with medication even though I expressed how awful my pain was and that I also was on the verge of throwing up. Finally after almost 2 hours, I was given meds and able to relax a little. They performed another ultrasound and ct on me. After the testing, I was not seen by another nurse or doctor for several hours. Before the doctor made his way to see me, they already had someone coming in to ask me to pay for my visit or set up a payment plan. I told her no as my insurance would cover the bill and later send me what I owe them. She leaves and Dr. Brian Smith finally steps in. This was by far the worst provider I've ever been seen by. He was beyond rude and short with me. Claimed that he saw nothing wrong with my Appendix nor my gallbladder and deemed my symptoms as an ovarian cyst. When I told him that I had been diagnosed two days prior with chronic appendicitis, he almost just laughed at me and accused my surgeon of being wrong. At this point I was so taken back and almost in tears as I just needed answers as to why I had been so sick for months. I ask him if he could explain the treatment of an ovarian cysts to me. Again he laughed at me and said "well let me take you back to high school biology for just a second". Instead of explaining how my treatment would work, he gave me a lesson plan on how my female body works with a tone as if he thought I was not knowledgeable whatsoever. At this point I was furious and confused. He would say just what he had to get out and then would stand in front of me and stare with a blank face almost as if he didn't want to be speaking to me anymore. I thanked him for his time and on his way out he paused and goes "well since everyone else got to touch you tonight, I don't want to miss out on the fun". Proceeds to "examine" me and then just walks out. The following Monday I called my surgeon's office to let them know I ended up in the hospital over the weekend. My surgeon got ahold of the scans they did on me. She saw nothing of an ovarian cyst by the way. It's been a couple of weeks now since my visit and I'm here with the update that yesterday I had both my gallbladder and appendix removed as there was something wrong and they both needed out asap. Bristol regional, do better. My health concerns were turned into a mockery at this facility.

Due to short staff on the floors and ER patients were having to be seen in the hallway while patients in ER beds waited on floor beds.
The staff was very nice and explained the situation. I was taken care of very well by all staff.
As a recently retired RN it's disappointing to see what has become of modern medicine. My experience in the beginning of my career (35.5 years) was very rewarding and we had the staff to meet and even exceed our patients needs. Unfortunately this is no longer the case.
