Patient
I have two experiences at this clinic: During my recent virtual consultation with Dr. Jose Luis Ramos Barajas at Bonavida clinic, I encountered some challenges. The initial consultation cost of 1200 pesos, coupled with an additional 1000 pesos for interpreting results, felt quite steep for just a 15-minute video chat that was subpar at best. The receptionist, in a rather non-humble manner, advised me to seek out another doctor who doesn't charge for result interpretation - a practice more common in my experience with other doctors in Mexico. Despite this, I chose not to proceed with paying him for the interpretation. Moreover, when I transferred the payment for the initial consultation in pesos, I was informed that, due to using an American card, they would have to charge in dollars. This detail was not communicated before hand and only after I had transferred the money. It seemed like they were keen on obtaining the slight difference in currency conversion, which was only three dollars which I paid promptly. See the issue is that many doctors and their minions believe they are the second coming of Christ and are above the patients, so sometimes they need to realize that just like any other business, they can also get a bad rep very quickly. The overall experience with Dr. Jose Luis Ramos Barajas at Bonavida clinic left me with a sense of financial inconvenience and a lack of consideration for patients. Again, 1200 for a 15 minute video chat with an internist in Nuevo Laredo and an additional 1000 for interpretation of results over video is completely unreasonable in my opinion especially with the type of attention they give and sub par at best consultation they provide. Second experience: My experience with the clinic's cardiologist Dr. Marcos Garza Torres was equally disappointing. Despite high fees, the echocardiograms conducted at Bonavida were riddled with inaccuracies. Two other echocardiogram specialists and a cardiac MRI confirmed these errors, but the cardiologist was dismissive, insisting that the other specialists and the MRI were wrong. This lack of accountability and the apparent disregard for accurate measurements make the clinic's cardiology services less than reliable. It's better to travel to a bigger city with more competent doctors, the hassle involved in dealing with this clinic isn't justified. I have documented proof of everything here just in case they would like to address all of this.
