I was really excited to be meeting with Dr. Srivastava about some heart issues I've been having. I was misdiagnosed with MVP at 18 and got an echo done through him and a heart monitor put on for 48 hours. The echo came out all clear, but the heart monitor showed some sinus tachycardia that went up to 158 bpm when I was just hanging around my house. I shared my concerns about this with him, and he told me that it was normal and that I was fine. I didn't feel fine. I've been experiencing palpitations, shortness of breathe, dizziness, and exhaustion that take me out for days. I pushed the issue further and was then taken out into the hallway of the building to discuss my medical results for all the nurses, people walking by, and folks in the waiting room to hear. It was extremely awkward. I kept pushing that 158 bpm was not a normal heart rate for me and that I was concerned there could be something wrong. I was essentially told that I have anxiety and that I should meditate and that I don't exercise enough. I informed him that I had been steadily going to the gym for over a year and had to recently stop during the past 3 months for being too exhausted and unable to function after my workouts. I have to sleep afterwards and I can't work or do anything. He responded "that'll do it." He then proceeded to show me his heart rate of 40 bpm and said I should be like him (this feels concerningly low?) He told me to work out for 3 more months and if I still had issues to see him again. I am now diagnosed with POTS after a tilt table test through a separate doctor. While I appreciate Dr. Srivastava getting me an echo and having me wear a heart monitor, he was unwilling to hear my concerns or take me seriously. I don't know what I did to make him write me off or discuss my personal medical problems for everyone to hear, but it made me feel crazy and ashamed. I'm very happy I went to get a second opinion.

I've been Dr. N. Shrivastava for a long time now and has been a pleasure despite all the health issues. He makes you feel relaxed and comfortable talking with him and he takes his time to explain anything you have concerns about. I would recommend him to anyone at any time. He's the best!

Very honest and upfront, and explained the pros & cons of my options, allowing me to make an informed decision. He didn't try to talk me into or out of anything. Once my decision was made, he acted according to my wishes. Overall, probably the smoothest and most trouble-free experience I've ever had in healthcare, and I *work* in healthcare.
