I had an accident and went to Seacoast through the ER. My experience was very good. Dr Mandel came into the hospital on a Saturday to operate on my ankle. I greatly appreciate this!! All of my nurses and nursing assistants were good, but Nancy, a nursing assistant on the 2nd floor went above and beyond to ensure that I had what I needed to get home safely. She is caring and works very hard for her patients.

I am currently sitting in the mammography office for women's breast health at the Seacoast location in Little River, SC as my 22 year old daughter is in a breast biopsy appointment where they took her back over 30 minutes late and then told her I could not sit in the room with her because it is too small and doc doesn't like family members in the room. The nurse actually smirked when she asked my daughter if she really wanted me to go back with her. To which my daughter replied, "yes, that's why I asked her to come"...I get it that these people do this for work daily, but a little patient prep and bedside manner would not hurt anyone. At the very least don't leave a scared 22 year old young woman sitting in a waiting room for 30+ minutes past their appointment time. Being an excellent facility spans beyond general medical care. It encompasses compassionate care for patients to include patient education prior to a scary procedure, respect for the scheduled times especially directly after lunch, and listening to the concerns and needs a patient has and not just what the doctor prefers. I have a lot of experience with hospitals as I have a terminally medically ill son and this was by far one of the poorest experiences I have ever had with a hospital. I cannot wait for Carolina Forest facility to be finished because this Seacoast location is not preferable.

McLeod Carolina Forest saved my husband's life last week because they cared to assess him and listen to our story about his history. My husband presented to the ER where he was cared for by a team of RN's and a Nurse Practitioner, Monique who worked swiftly and thoroughly. My husband had a severe kidney infection which ended up in his bloodstream causing life threatening sepsis! They identified the severity of his illness and transported him to an ICU bed at Seacoast Hospital in Little River! Every one of the clinical staff went beyond expectations to address my husband's needs and mine. Every staff member was professional, kind, knowledgeable of my husband's condition and exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much McLeod staff members and 4th floor staff members! While on vacation at Cherry Grove beach last week, I was stricken with a severe attack on my sciatic nerve. I'm old and have never had pain like that before, starting in my right buttock and down my thigh, knee, calf, and all five toes. Dr Sean O'Shea [I just knew he was an Irishman), the ER doc, and his staff were so caring, so compassionate, and did everything they could to make me as comfortable as possible. I was sent to xray where the young lady there was equally caring and professional. We did lapse into a brief convo about how fabulous Paris is. Xrays were done quickly, I was given two prescriptions, and discharged. The meds were exactly spot-on and allowed me to enjoy the last two days of my vacation despite not being able to get back ON the beach. Thank you to McLeod for the excellent care they provided me when needed. Wish we had one where I live in the Midlands of SC.

This past September my wife Betty had an accident at home which resulted in a dislocated shoulder among other injuries. She was taken to McLeod Seacoast Emergency, we were seen rather quickly and received excellent ER care. During this time she was given a CT scan which they found she had a brain aneurysm that seems to have been there for a while which we were unaware of. Surgery has since been completed at MUSC. Special thanks to the entire staff and especially Dr. Sarna for the excellent care and compassionate dedication to their patients.
