Dr. Marcelo Fernandes is a native of Clemson (South Carolina) where he received his undergraduate degree at Clemson University. He received his medical degree from Duke University and earned an MPH at Yale School of Public Health. He trained at the University of Miami School of Medicine for internal medicine residency and served as a Chief Resident at the Miami VA Hospital. Dr. Fernandes went on to complete his cardiovascular fellowship at Emory University, where he obtained additional training in cardiac multimodality imaging and in valvular heart disease. Dr Fernandes is a wonderful caring doctor! He is very knowledgeable about cardiology!! He always takes time to answer all my questions. He makes sure I understand test results and always takes time to listen to all of my concerns! I would recommend him to anyone that needs a cardiologist! This was my initial visit to the clinic after a referral from my primary care doctor but it was evident that Dr. Fernandes had thoroughly reviewed my medical records. He took the time to listen to my concerns and address each one. I feel confident that I will receive the care I need.
The staff is absolutely wonderful. The ladies at the desk is very friendly and greets you with a smile. Dr. Fernandes cares about your health and is very easy to talk to. He is wonderful and he always makes me smile .I wished all doctors would be like Dr.Fernandes . Thank you for treating me as if I was family.
He did not listen, didn't seem to care, brushed me off just because I am a smoker. I know my dizziness and shortness of breath are more than just COPD. It took over 2 months to get an appointment then I had to drive 45 minutes wait an hour for a five minute visit.
Dr. Fernandes and the entire staff seem genuinely engaged with my healthcare experience. The same is true everywhere I've been treated in the Prisma system but these folks are particularly good. 11/11 Always great care as usual. I feel good about my care plan.
