If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place was completely useless. We brought my wife in with immense abdominal pain, signed in at 10:20 pm. Sat in the waiting area for over half an hour before being called to the window to register, then waited again for the triage nurse to call her in. Got into a room after 11:30 pm. Nurse came and asked most of the same questions triage had. Told us a doctor would be to see her shortly. After a couple hours of waiting, I finally flagged down the nurse, and asked if she knew when a doctor would actually be in to see her. She told us that there was literally only ONE DOCTOR working. ((What kind of ER has only one doctor on?)) She said she'd find out how many people were ahead of her. Comes back and tells us there's two patients before her. Doctor finally came in at just before 3 am. His "treatment" plan was to give her a drink and maybe some mylanta. Mind you, my wife was in so much pain she thought she was going to die, but this quack was going to give her water and call it good. We decided to just leave, and I can guarantee we will never go back there. Don't waste your time going here.

I have to share my experience with the Xray department at Fatima. Carolina in scheduling was so accommodating after the frustration I experienced with broken x-ray machines at Landmark Medical. I missed two days of work because of their down machine and only received a phone call just before my appointment. Staff at Fatima went out of their way to make it possible to get my Xray scheduled the same day and not have to miss another day of work. All the staff from the security guard at the front entrance to the Xray staff and Radiologist were friendly and professional. I am hoping this hospital, as most of the others in RI, is not closing.

It has been two days since my experience in the ER, and I remain in complete shock and horror over what I experienced. After waking with severe abdominal pain at 10 weeks pregnant, my husband rushed me to this hospital as it was the closest to our home. Upon entering the building, I expected to speak directly with a medical professional who would immediately triage my condition. Instead, I was greeted with a sign in sheet and the instruction to sit down and wait until registration called my name. There was a blond woman behind a glass window whom I thought would surely see me and come to my immediate aid; instead, she proceeded to scroll through her phone while periodically looking up through the glass and doing nothing.
After several minutes of no movement from this woman, nor the folks at the registration window, my husband alerted the employees to the severity of the situation. I was summoned to provide my registration info and have vitals and general medical info collected from the blond woman (whom I assume is a triage nurse?) She then stated "you're going to hate me for this but I have no beds and you need to return to the waiting room." My husband objected and reminded her that I'm pregnant and am clearly having a significant medical emergency. She insisted that we return to our seats as there was nothing else she could do.
At this point, I was unable to sit in an upright position and was laying on the floor in the waiting room, writhing in pain. The blond woman emerged from behind her glass enclosure and demanded that I return to my seat. I pleaded for my husband to take me to a different hospital. The blond woman stated that Woman and Infants Hospital would be unlikely to get me in any sooner, because they "treat based on urgency." My husband exclaimed that the situation was clearly urgent and stated that he was going to call 911. In what can only be described as a holiday miracle (please note my sarcasm), a bed became available within minutes and I was sent into the ER. Unfortunately, the wait there continued to take an unreasonably long time, and the pain had grown so severe that I was calling out for help, vomiting, and had wet myself. Still, nobody came. When a doctor finally did appear (an older, disgruntled gentleman), he asked what was wrong and I told him I'm pregnant and in excruciating abdominal pain. He looked at me quizzically and stated something to the effect of "ok, so....what else?" I was in too much pain to challenge this man's rude, unnecessary skeptical and degrading attitude. Luckily, he agreed to provide pain medication and send me for an ultrasound.
The ultrasound revealed an ovarian torsion with no blood flow to my left ovary, as well as a ruptured ovarian cyst. I was rushed to Woman and Infants hospital, where I underwent emergency surgery. After the surgery, I was shown photos that revealed just how severe the situation had become (my ovary and fallopian tube were twisted, enlarged, and nearly black in color). Waiting any longer could have been disastrous.
To be entirely, unequivocally clear to the blond woman who was working in the ER that morning - this was a SEVERE medical emergency that you brushed off as inconsequential. If we had not pushed to be assisted right away, your nonchalant behavior could have resulted in the loss of my ovary and fallopian tube, or even worse, irrevocable harm to my unborn child. I wish I had recorded your name. You present as a person entirely devoid of compassion and inconvenienced by your career choice. You are an improper fit for the job position you hold, and I strongly urge you to choose a career path that is not patient-facing. And to the doctor who initially greeted me with a sarcastic scoff - it was so interesting to note your change in demeanor when the ultrasound results revealed I was not, in fact, bluffing. I hope you give future patients the benefit of doubt and re-read the Hippocratic Oath that you once took.
Shame on this hospital, for allowing such incompetency in the ER. The director of this hospital needs to read these reviews.
