Very mixed feelings about my stay here. First, I came into the E.R. on doctor's orders to check on a possible infection. The staff there was excellent and I was seen by a very capable doc. They ended up admitting me for five days to blast me with broad spectrum antibiotics and stabilize my blood readings since I was just 8 weeks past having open heart surgery.
The nursing staff and support personnel were first rate. Wonderful folks. However, it was not until day THREE that I saw a physician other than my E.R. doc -- the hospitalist who apparently was monitoring my progress on paper...she was not confidence-inspiring, as she was unsure and changed theories and regimens several times in short order. On day FOUR I saw an infectious disease doc who disputed the hospitalist's diagnosis and treatment plan. He ordered more tests and nothing was ever concluded. I did however receive several visits from the hospitalist until I was released late on Day 5.
Now, the heart surgery just two months prior was at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, so I tried hard not to make direct comparisons -- however, there I generally saw multiple docs EACH DAY, including my surgeon and the surgical docs who assisted. Needless to say, they are a world-class facility for good reasons, and my expectation was there would be a difference.
Further, I discovered that UPMC Williamsport uses a system that could not communicate with UPMC in the downstate area where I generally reside. Scheduling blood tests as followup was a major undertaking. This presumably was going to be fixed in near future. I will say that the food was the best I have had during any hospitalization. I would not hesitate to go to this facility again if needed, but they need to enhance their physician presence and availability to be somewhere I would have full confidence in.

It has a Subway! The lobby is lovely and has a piano, for romance deuts. If it was free, that would be nice.
In general, a location to avoid unless your visit is scheduled! In moments of haste, the hospital is a mostly adequate giving of care choice.
You can get lost easily, but that isn't a negative, sometimes.
The Eagle statue in the southern forecount is neat.
Please note that results may vary.
Pro tips:
You will be promptly inquisitioned, typically preassment, about your payment preferences.
The payment preferences will not be accurately entered into your patient file.
Also, payment will typically be sent to collections before being sent to patients.
Please note that individual results may vary.
All mail will be sent USPS next day express to your childhood address. If not applicable, the address of residence by date least current to most current.
It is probably just a panic attack.
Individual results may vary.
Thank you!

Hmm. Would've gave zero stars & that's telling a lot. Don't come here. Especially at this location, it's not worth the time & there's better places to visit. Some of those medical workers are unprofessional & are enabled to disrespect patients, especially minority ones. One of the male workers was giving dirty looks to random patients in the waiting room. I suspect due to racial prejudice & also sexism, he didn't do it to the non-minority patients in that place. Another worker was performing blood-work on a patient & she was behaving in a passive-aggressive demeanor from the get-go. She was talking in a catty, rude manner & tone the entire time. Then her strange, unstable behavior escalated towards the patient who was actually calm & civil during the entire encounter, unlike her. Assumed her actions was also because of racial-prejudice, she acted normal & acted polite with the non-minority patients, yet was completely the opposite towards the patients who didn't look Caucasian. I guess both of those workers forgot who's land they're on. Anyways she kept roughly & loudly throwing items in the trash bin, nearby her. While she was taking the patient's blood, she jabbed the needle into the patient's arm aggressively in a stabbing motion. Was a very belligerent gesture & just inconsiderate. I guess she thought she was going to try to "intimidate" the patient for having the "audacity" to seek care & get her blood-work done. I've studied in healthcare & that's not how taking bloodwork is supposed to be performed. It's supposed to be done in a careful, calm demeanor & set-up. I'm aware she knew that too, I'm not dumb & can't imagine what else she's done to other patients in secret. If this medical practice's workers can't hold back their awkward & malicious, weird little compulsions to mistreat, harm/assault random patients for no reason, then they need to find somewhere else to work. Nobody has to deal with that unacceptable behavior because they're minority, especially as a woman of color. Not to mention & after that all happened, I've had two other people tell me that some of the medical rooms are dirty, some of them have dirty floors & one of the rooms had a dirty floor with some food wrappers on the floor, near the bed. That's disgusting & can't be trusted to be treated properly if I got to worry about catching a infection from bacteria & filth.

Last Monday my 13 year old son was rushed by Ambulance to UPMC Williamsport. He was experiencing some dizzy spells and was very nervous. Hospital Staff in the ER a little after midnight was truly amazing. They helped him to calm down. The Dr that helped us out was Patrick Ward. I have so many positive things I really would love to say about him. But Ima make it short lol. He's very sweet, compassionate and very passionate about what he does. I picked up nothing but positive vibes off of him. If I need to be seen in the future in the ER I promise you I only want him. Also check in at the front desk of the E R was a beautiful Women who was so sweet and kind. I didn't get her name but she remembered me because I was back at the ER a few days later.

Just do better Williamsport!! Small kid with a dog bite to his face was just leaking blood and fluids all over the floor and chairs. Poor kid sat for hour 45 mins before being seen. I was there with my kid for a head injury that happened at school and we sat for 2and half hours. I left, went to Muncy hospital and I'll be giving them a 5 star. Better facility, better faculty, better service, more compassionate!! In and out within a hour or less. Like I said, do better Williamsport.
FYI for anyone with a rebuttal, 10 years in the area and Williamsport ER hospital only ever disappoints!!! Never a good experience here. I know I'm not the only one to agree!!
