William Barrington, MD, is a cardiologist and is certified in cardiovascular disease and electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is chief of cardiology and vice president of medical affairs at UPMC Shadyside and is an electrophysiologist in the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute. He is also a professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his residency at Presbyterian University Hospital, followed by his fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Barrington is one of the finest physicians I have ever seen. He is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, listens carefully, and communicates clearly. I've never felt rushed with him. He also happens to be an incredibly nice man. I can't recommend him strongly enough.
Dr. Barrington is the best. He is always welcoming and willing to listen. He answers any questions that I have with complete information. The staff is just as welcoming. As a stable patient, I only see him once a year, but I always look forward to the appointment.
