I came in today for the first time to speak to a doctor. I felt seen, heard and the doctor was very kind and patient with me. Before I left I got a few vaccines I was due for. While scheduling out a test at the front desk before leaving I nearly fainted. Everybody there jumped into action to get me into a wheelchair and into a room where they surrounded me and checked my blood sugar, blood pressure and fed me food (some of which I think was from their own lunch!) and gave me juice. They sat with me and explained everything to me about why I almost fainted and printed me out information about vaccine side effects. That's never happened to me before but it does happen. I'm really glad I was there and everybody there took incredibly good care of me. For a first visit it was a little crazy but I feel like I made a really good choice going to McKeesport Internal Medicine. An RN walked me to my car to make sure that I was okay and as soon as I arrived home I received a phone call from the office to check up on me. Absolutely wonderful people here.

I have been going here for years but never again after today. I feel degraded and embarrassed. The female physician I had seen was very manipulative, and condescending by assuming I was ignorant and had I not told her I was a nurse and knew my rights and what she was not allowed to say and do to me(which she challenged by asking me my place of employment) then the disrespect would of continued. Presumptuous and inappropriate.

On Friday March 18th, I walked into the lobby of the Internal Medicine office. I first noticed that no one was sitting in the waiting room. Secondly, I approached the window to ask if I should register and sign in, since I didn't have an appointment. The woman sitting behind the glass...if she said "No" 10 times, she said it 30 times. I had to ask her at least 4 times what "No" meant. She had the gall to wave me on, tell me that walk-ins are only on Mondays, & concluded with this, & I quote: "I'm sorry your sick, but you can't come in here today". This is appalling when you work in a medical facility & don't give the courtesy of even asking what the problem is. I went up to UPMC & walked into the ER. I was admitted later that day, had an NG tube put in, and a CT Scan that revealed a problem that could've resulted in surgery. If you cannot interact with the public in a respectful manner, find a job that doesn't require it.

I stopped going here years ago, for many reasons, but the final straw was, I has a sinus infection and they refused to give me antibiotics. Take over the counter medications they said. I did, and returned each week, getting progressively worse, begging for antibiotics each time. Eventually it went to my lungs and I became very ill, and still they told me to buy Mucinex and other very expensive over the counter meds that didn't work. Mind you I hadn't had antibiotics for FIVE YEARS so it's not like I was constantly begging for them. You'd have thought I was asking them for drugs the way they behaved. It was ridiculous. Finally after five weeks of being sick, they caved and gave me a Zip Pack of Steroids and antibiotics. But I had to be practically at Deaths Door to get it. I took those meds and was 100% better in four days. I was sick for a month and a half for no reason, over stupid antibiotics. It's insane. They don't want to prescribe anything at all, ever! For anything! I switched to AHN and they called to ask me WHY. I said Do you have a half hour to listen? The woman said she did so I broke everything down for her. I'll never ever go there again.
