Our experience at PSHL was overall very good. From the moment we arrived, the check-in staff made a great impression. They were warm, polite, and genuinely helpful, taking their time to make sure everything went smoothly for us. The nurses were just as attentive, checking in often and making sure our needs were met with care. The overall atmosphere of the hospital felt calm and welcoming, which helped ease any nerves we had. One pleasant surprise was the cafe--it was actually quite nice. It offered a good selection of food and drinks, and some items were freshly made right in front of you, like omelets, breakfast burritos, and eggs. The food tasted fresh and well-prepared, which made for a better experience than I expected in a hospital setting. Overall, we left feeling that PSHL provides quality care.

I am writing this review, for the professional of the staff. First and foremost, I would love to give a HUGE hug and shout out to the husband and wife team, the Kaplans! Marny, you really made my sister Tami feel at ease! You have no idea, how you and your husband not only made my sister feel, but how you made her sisters feel, during this very scary time. We absolutely, appreciate you, and your husband!! I would also like to mention FIFI! What a very kind human being! She was with us, every step of the way! FIFI, was very compassionate, and warm! We still talk about her and how kind, and loving she was, as if she was a member of our family! The nurses who took care of our sister, were also very nice, and put our minds at ease. The staff here, were unlike any hospital staff I have ever encountered. Very professional, very kind, very compassionate! Thank you so much, for making our sisters surgery, a comfortable one. I had both of my babies with Penn State Lancaster. My first was in 2023 and my second was just two weeks ago, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care I received. Every single staff member in the OBGYN office is truly amazing. They are kind, patient, and make you feel supported every step of the way. During both of my deliveries, the nurses and doctors were absolutely phenomenal. They kept me calm, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt safe and cared for throughout the entire experience. I had such an amazing birthing experience with them, twice now, and I can't thank the team enough. Highly recommend to any expecting mom!

Took my mom to the ER yesterday. We understood that it would be a long wait time, I work in healthcare myself. We sat there for about 5 hours and the only time we got up was when they took her back for X-rays/when she got triaged initially. We came back out and at this point they were taking people back to the rooms that were there After us. I got up to go ask the receptionist how much longer and she couldn't find my moms name. She asked if we were at the right location. I said yes, we've been here since 1:30pm they took her to get X-rays an hour ago and the lady then said she got taken out of the board after a nurse came out to call her twice. I explained we had been sitting there the entire time except for when they took her back. The lady reached out to the charge nurse and the nurse stated she called her name multiple times but that was not our fault that the staff didn't communicate to know where she was. The staff should be able to see where their patients are if they have been taken back for any further testing. They were then able to get her back pretty fast afterwards which we were pleased with but when she got taken back to the room the person there just said alright she can have a seat. Didn't even offer to help her get on the bed knowing she was in for her knee pain and in a wheel chair not being able to walk. I had to ask twice for someone to assist her. I then said now what, what are we waiting for?The person didn't even introduce herself and said oh the doctor. We didn't know if she was a nurse, a tech, nothing. No badge was on, No instructions were given, no questions asked, nothing. The clinical staff back in the rooms made it obvious that they didn't want to be there. Lacked compassion and empathy for the patients. The girl was being lazy and made it clear she wanted to do the minimum. The ER is not for everyone so if you're not ready to be fast paced, compassionate, hands on with patients and passionate about your job, you shouldn't work there! The doctor & ultrasound techs were great though will say that but overall was very disappointed with the service that was given to my mom.

If I could give zero stars I would. My mom is having a severe issue (for privacy, I'm not getting into it.) We just sat in the ER waiting room for almost FOUR hours. I kept complaining and we were brought back to a room...and now we sit. No one has come in yet. No one. This place positively does NOT care an ounce about you. This is the worst experience we have ever had at a hospital in Lancaster County. Terrible!!! No value for life here! If you care about your family, do NOT take them there!!!
