Internal Medicine Associates of Cranberry-UPMC

I have been a patient at this practice for years. Dr Pierson and Dr Mayor-Costa are by far the two best doctors I have ever had in my life. They are the only doctors I've ever had that actually sit down to take the time to listen/empathize/understand and do what is best for their patients needs. Keep in mind, I have been through countless doctors since 2009 due to having a severe case of Crohn's and there is not one other doctor out there that I have ever encountered that has the level of professionalism and care that Dr Pierson and Dr Mayor-Costa deliver. I am honored to say they are my doctors and this practice is very lucky to have them as their physicians. Thank you both for all that you do and making a difference in peoples lives! I want to start by saying all of the doctors in this practice are absolutely lovely. I couldn't imagine a bad appointment with them. I also love the desk staff. BUT . Whoever Ms. Sally M. is, answering the messages through the MyUpmc app is plain rude. I've had many conversations with her through the app and always end up giving up and just calling to talk to someone else because she is unhelpful and unprofessional and unkind I can't believe such a wonderful office allows this. Her most recent message , after I had asked for a response about updating my physical was (copy and paste) Sally M 11:32 AM Hi Clairissa, We received your message at 3:04 pm yesterday. This is not a messenger service. We have 72 hours to respond. We have printed out your paper and are waiting for Dr. Mayer-Costa to sign it. He is not in today until 1. Once he signs it, we will scan it in to your chart and send you a message. Sally RN

Sub par is the kindest word I should use here. It's sad when a son has to care better care of his father than his own doctor. "Dr" Costa had my dad on blood pressure pills that had sulfa in them (which my dad is allergic to) resulting in him constantly clearing his throat non stop all day and all night for several years. Now if this was a server allergy he could have died, what carelessness.This was brought up several times. Finally, I got him to go to a heart doctor who immediately took him off that medication when he knew instantly that the medicine contained sulfa. What a world we live in now. I share my experience to educate other people, that you MUST do your homework before swallowing the pills doctors just want to shove down your throat. Mr owner, I'm not doing paperwork for you. What more do you need or not understand? My dad has been on a particular blood pressure pill for 10 yrs which has sulfa in it, which he is allergic to, which SHOULD BE IN HIS MEDICAL FILES. He told costa several times of bad throat clearing for 10 yrs and the medication was completely looked over. I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure doctors should know what's in the medicine their giving patients for ALLERGY purposes l, especially if could be a fatal one...the end.

I had my appointment scheduled with Dr Tajammal, she's a new physician and I was really happy with her care. Very thorough, kind and compassionate! Highly recommended!

I wasn't really impressed with the care here. I really didn't experience much joy as a patient. I think these doctors got into their profession to make money and not help people. It took me months to try and get to specialists and to get appointments for tests, no one helps you get to the doctors you need, you will be on your own. These people really don't care about you.
