Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Medicine has its roots in science, which was my primary interest in school. I appreciated the role of using a scientific basis to improve the health care of the population. I have always been fascinated by how the body works. Medicine is a career driven by services, and as such, you are touched and tasked by putting others first, yet it always allows you to be a life-long learner.
