Bethel Park Health + Wellness Pavilion

After reading all the bad reviews on all of the hospitals and surgery centers (AGH or UPMC) I was worried. I checked both major health groups even though I have had some bad, bad experiences with UPMC. I had gone to this facility several times for mammograms and every time had enjoyed (As much as you can enjoy that!) very nice staff and efficient good protocol. I had to go in yesterday for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I could not have been happier with any of the medical professionals I had contact with during my visit. They ranged from sweet and caring. Professional and confidence-inspiring. Comedic and mood lifting. All the way to nice and caring. I was the last one there because they tacked my appointment onto the end. I'm sure these hard workers were ready to go home after a long day but they made made sure that I was ready to leave without hurrying me out the door. The building is extremely clean and functional. BTW. So easy to get to and easy, adequate parking. If only the medical profession could somehow make the colonoscopy prep not horrible...

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Sheila, a lab technician at this facility. From the moment I arrived, she was unprofessional--refusing to make eye contact, speaking to me in a condescending manner, and displaying a generally rude attitude. To make matters worse, she mishandled my sample, which led to it being invalidated and forced me to retest. This was not only frustrating but also a serious breach of trust and protocol. Due to the severity of this incident, I am filing formal complaints with my insurance provider, the hospital administration, and the board of health. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and competence, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Laboratory - Frequently have blood drawn and appreciate the Lab Techs and the numbering process they have established. Techs work fast and efficiently and are friendly in a professional manner. Their numbering system ensures it's first come first served. Lab results are posted on-line the same day. Longer lines in the morning though they move through the lines well. Shorter lines in the afternoons.

My Aunt and I frequently get lab work and other tests performed at the AHN Higbee site. The Lab techs are efficient and skilled. The techs for mammograms, bone density etc. are also skilled and efficient.
