I can only say Wow! I'm completely disgusted at the way my daughter was treated at this hospital and I can say I will never go to this hospital again. My daughter fell riding her skateboard. She was complaining that her collar bone hurt. You could clearly see that it was fractured. Since we live so close to this hospital she went there. They treated her like she was some kind of drug addicted criminal. While waiting for the doctor she was just being curious and was looking in the little drawers they have. She came across one that had some alcohol pads in them and she took out a few to use and next thing she knows security barges in the room and starts yelling at her to put back whatever it was that she stole. Really?!?! First of all the amount of money these hospitals and doctors charge a person for treatment is outrageous so I'm pretty sure a couple of alcohol pads are not going to bankrupt them. They also asked my daughter multiple times if she needed narcan. She told them that she didn't need that and that she didn't use drugs. Yet, they kept asking. The doctor didn't seem very concerned about her collar bone even after telling her that it was dislocated. He wouldn't even give her a prescription for ibuprofen. He told her she can buy it at the store. She ended up leaving before she was discharged because the security guard kept yelling at her and calling her a thief. Seriously? This hospitals priorities are clearly out of whack. Honestly after reading others reviews I don't think I would want them to piss on me if I was on fire.

I recently had a stress test at OHSU, and Heather and Sydney made the entire experience incredibly positive. A stress test naturally comes with a lot of pressure, but they were kind, professional, and very informative. They explained the whole procedure clearly, helped me relax, and put my mind at ease. Their calm, sophisticated care turned what could have been a stressful day into a surprisingly pleasant one. I'm truly grateful for them.

I WISH I COULD GIVE YOU PEOPLE A 0-INFINITY.
I took my son in for a mental hold due to an impulse control disorder. Let me preface this by saying, other than not sleeping well and having an impulse to steal electronics he is a typical 10 year old kid. After weeks of not being able to sleep because my son kept sneaking through windows, and several calls to all different places it was finally recommended by our case managers to take him to the hospital, even if its only a night to get some immediate help, since appointments are weeks to months out. So i took him to our nearest ER as they suggested, and i would much rather have a sleepless night than deal with these people for anything ever again. They called me the day after to discharge him, which I kind of expected since it often takes weeks for inpatient helpfor such a young child. When I showed up for discharge my son was complaining of a sore neck, had a weird bruise on his leg, and was having some sort of weird involuntary muscle spasms where he would start crying in pain because his muscles were so tense, his jaw would lock open or closed, his eyes and neck would twist and contort, and he would drool and be unresponsive. The first spasm shocked me so bad I immediately called for the doctor. Several doctors, including the lead in charge that day tried to tell me it was voluntary and he was doing it for attention. That he was faking it all. I kept telling them I know my son, he doesn't do anything even remotely close to this for attention. He would be much more likely to use spoons as drumsticks or something annoying. I demanded they do some sort of blood work or mental evaluation for him or something because something was severely wrong. I even asked for several different doctors, who literally just backed up the first doctor by saying he was doing this all ON PURPOSE! He couldn't swallow properly, he would barely walk. The doctor FORCED him to his feet and FORCED him to walk around the hospital while he was crying in pain from being stuck sideways while they were dragging him around the hall. For hours he went through these episodes of torture. Barely even conscious that I was there. I BEGGED AND CRIED AND PLEADED FOR THEM TO HELP MY SON AND ALL THEY DID WAS SHOVE DISCHARGE PAPERS AT US. They FORCED us to leave in a taxi, refusing all help, while the Taxi driver and I both cried as my son stopped breathing several times in the 10 minute car ride home from the severe muscle spasms. NOT EVEN RUBBING KNUCKLES AS HARD AS I COULD ON HIS CHEST HELPED. As soon as I got home I called 911, the EMTs took one look at him and knew immediately what was wrong. They said it was a severe reaction bordering on allergic/overdose to the medications given to him by the Hillsboro hospital, the fix was simply extremely high dose of benadryl to stop the spasms and reaction. Hillsboro hospital could have given him that, or even told me I could give him benadryl at home to fix it and instead they forced my son to go through hours of emotional and physical torture while essentially gaslighting me into believing my son was being difficult. From the time I saw my son that morning, until 2:30AM the next day my son was going through these spasms, unable to eator drink properly. He downed so much food as soon as we got home because he had basically been starved due to the medication essentially taking him hostage. The extreme malpractice and negligence by these doctors is appaling and disgusting. HOW DARE YOU MAKE A VOW TO HEAL AND NOT HARM THEN CAUSE SO MUCH SUFFERING. SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE. St. Vincent's was VERY clear that he WAS NOT faking, being difficult, or seeking attention. They assured me it was a severe reaction that caused a catatonic state. They were APPALED that several doctors and even the social worker tried to say he was doing it by choice for attention and RELEASED him that was. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL LIKE THE PLAGUE, BECAUSE YOULL DIE HERE LIKE IT.

I've never seen such unattentive hospital. I brought my wife because of a wrist injury. It wasn't the injury that concerned us, her blood pressure was way up, 214/90. I told the staff that she just had a heart procedure which makes the elevated BP more concerning. I didn't see any sense of urgency from the staff. We waited almost an hour and no attention was given to her, even after several pleas.
I finally made a decision to take her to Newberg Providence Hospital, which was 30 minutes away. A risky move but paid off. As soon as we arrived, without even completing the admission process, she was treated immediately inspite of others ahead of us because they immediately recognize the urgency.
Seriously, even the third-world countries have better service than what Hillsboro Medical Hospital provide.

Ran into an issue... will not go into details. Made a formal report because the care we received did not feel like quality care and don't want this to happen to anyone else. Got the most condescending letter back along the lines of sorry if we may have caused you discomfort or inconvenience, this is a known risk. It is not "if" they did cause discomfort... and luckily so far no more procedures needed to correct it. Yes it may be a risk, but it's very rare and very preventable if time and attention were given. Hopefully they will take our feedback and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else, but judging by the defensive wording of the letter who knows. However, the nurses were great.
