The surgical team at CMH is fantastic. They are very professional, but caring and supportive. From the moment I walked in I knew I could relax. I was in good hands. Dr Zimmerman is wonderful surgeon and caring person who puts you at ease. I so appreciate his skills and bedside manner. Thank you to all the incredible staff

Update: we came into the er thinking it was an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. Doctors completely ignored symptoms and continued to give me the antibiotic. At OSHU, they confirmed it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I almost died. We will be suing CMH I cannot imagine how this hospital could be worse. I went to the ER for 11 hours on Tuesday only to have several nurses and doctors ignore every symptom I came in with other than the least problematic one. When I would talk about, for example, my swollen lymph nodes and chills, they told me it wasn't significant enough to be a problem. I wish I could call out some of these people's names but I cannot remember anyone's name. They surprisingly got me a room, and the only people who genuinely listened to me was the nurse taking care of me overnight, Andy (can't remember his last name), and Dr. Zimmerman. The next day, they were going to DISCHARGE me except I told them I wasn't safe going back home due to bad flooding and being scared of getting stuck 40 minutes away. Thank goodness they got an ambulance to take me to Portland because two hours in the ambulance without any of the IV fluids they were giving me caused a 103-104 degree fever. I cannot BELIEVE they would discharge me in the state I was in. Now I have a full body rash and the OHSU will probably have me there for a few days. If I went back home, I would have been stuck in the water and who knows what that fever would have done to me. It's currently Friday and OHSU will not be releasing me anytime soon while CMH was ready to let me die. On another note: one of the lab people who drew my blood was extremely rude when I was having a panic attack and made some pretty upsetting comments. Everyone completely ignored the fact that I was unable to take my normal anxiety medication and basically laughed and ignored my neurodivergence. I really wish I could remember their names so I could name drop all of these staff members. This place is a literal joke and I hope no one else has to deal with the people that I did or that they at least be more open to acknowledging future patients issues whether or not they can physically do something about it. This place is just sad.

The surgeon was excellent and the nurses were great. I felt well taken care of by all the staff. I did note some tension between staff. This Didn't affect me or my care. The communication for pre surgery and follow ups were great, texts and phone calls. Great job all around. I couldn't be more pleased with my care.

A true lifesaver and trauma center with caring, knowledgeable and specialized care available as the hospital continues to expand. Astoria and the surrounding area can be proud to have such a fantastic regional hospital providing care more akin to larger metropolitan areas. Constantly improving with a team that will listen and work hard to find the best available resources for an increasingly wide array of conditions. Highly recommended!
