Patient
Was accosted at the door (the patient line) by a man who tried to tell me I couldn't talk to someone in billing. When I stated that I would like to talk to someone at the desk instead of him as I didn't feel as though my personal information was secure with him just prattling at me and there was a specific bill I wanted to address under presumptive care... he started carrying on loudly that they don't deal with financial aid cases and that the lady who was doing that at their location wasn't supposed to be. I said, that's nice, I'd like to talk to the woman at the desk. He was loud, rude and aggressive. I walked to the desk and asked if I could speak to someone in billing. The woman at the desk said sure, no problem... the male interrupted and again started carrying on about financial aid not being something they do... I looked at him and said "wow" turned back to the polite woman at the front desk and said which door was that? Lisa in billing was kind, patient and helped me sort out the issue. I will say that it doesn't surprise me that Ashland community hospital is constantly on the brink of going out of business. Frankly, there was no reason for the piggy little man to speak to me at all, let alone behave like an absolute nube. It felt vulnerable, with no consideration of my privacy as a patient, and no regard for my financial privacy. Asante, do better, train your staff or something. To the rude little man in the teal shirt, maybe you don't need to be in a forward facing position, maybe better suited for the mail room.
