My husband was originally at the OU Hospital ER in the city, where he sat in the waiting room for over 3 hours in severe pain without any real help. Out of frustration and worry, I decided to have him discharged and we went to Norman Regional ER instead -- and I am so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the staff at Norman Regional were incredible. He was taken to a room and given pain medication within 30 minutes. Within about an hour and a half, he had a diagnosis and was admitted. The night nurse was absolutely amazing -- she took such great care of him and kept him comfortable until his surgery the next morning. The surgery went smoothly, and we truly couldn't have asked for a better experience from start to finish. To make things even more remarkable, we went in without insurance and applied for financial help through the hospital. Our bill was cut in half through their assistance program. We were so relieved and grateful for their compassion and understanding during such a stressful time. Norman Regional Hospital went above and beyond for us when we needed it most. I can't thank the doctors, nurses, and staff enough for their kindness, professionalism, and care. Highly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of quality medical treatment and genuine compassion.

I was treated like Royalty by Dr Jeremiah Maupin and Lauren Pratt. The gave me all the needed.information ahead of time. Scheduled the Surgery and I was swept up and had robotic Hip.replacement!I had a great anesthesiologist, too! Maupin told me I made the right decision to fix the hip. I have been so impressed by Ortho Central . They called me once a week for the first month in " aftercare". I had not ever had that before. I am getting PT now. I just want to Thank Dr Maupin and Lauren and all the great people that work with him! I AM SO VERY THANKFUL! My cup runneth over!

I want to clarify that I've always received EXCELLENT care at the emergency room at Norman Regional. This review pertains to a surgery I had in September. In mid-September, I had to have thyroid removal surgery. I went to pre-op and had the usual done...the labs, IV, questions etc...that was fine. Pre-op nurse was nice...although he seemed a little nervous. The surgery was fine. The issue was afterwards in post-op. Because my surgery was late in the day, apparently the usual post-op area was closed, so I was brought to a different area. The nurse that was dealing with me (I don't recall her name, but she was older, blonde, and walked with a distinctive limp/tilt) was so mean! I made a comment about being freezing cold, and in a really sarcastic tone, she said "Well, a minute ago, you were too hot." She then sighed and reattached the heat hose thing to my gown. She then walked away. I laid there, completely on my own, for a long time. I wasn't feeling right, I could tell I had a high fever and I tried to call out for someone to help, but after the thyroid surgery, I wasn't able to speak due to my vocal cord being paralyzed during the surgery. I was whispering "help, please help me" to everyone that passed by. Every single person looked over at me...and NOT ONE of them stopped to see if I was alright. After a while, my husband was allowed back there with me and I guess I was calling out for my ESA dog, Max. The nurse asked my husband "Does she always act like this?" Totally unprofessional. Finally, I was released. Once I got home, 45 minutes later, I took my temperature and it was 102.3. The nurse never even bothered to check my temp before I was discharged. I was SEVERELY sick for four weeks. Thanks nurse Ratchett.....for NOTHING. I could have died because of your carelessness.

Very nice facility. ER staff were excellent. The general hospital staff was 'hit or miss'. Mostly very good people and mostly very good care, but it is frustrating that the quality of care you receive will depend on the particular nurse 'on shift' that night, and it does vary greatly. Like I said, overall, very good.

Our baby is currently in the NICU at Norman Regional Healthplex, and words can't describe how grateful we are for the care he is receiving. This has been the hardest and most emotional time of our lives, but the staff here has given us so much peace and comfort. Dr. Jimmerson is truly an amazing doctor. From day one, he has been patient, kind, and incredibly thorough in explaining everything about our baby's care. He doesn't just treat his patients, he cares for them like family. Knowing our son is under his watchful eye gives us hope and confidence each day. The NICU nurses are nothing short of angels. They are there around the clock, not only caring for the tiniest babies but also supporting parents like us through the ups and downs of this journey. The way they talk to our baby, comfort him, and treat him with such love and gentleness brings tears to our eyes. They celebrate the small victories with us, and they lift us up when things feel overwhelming. Our son is still fighting and still being cared for in the NICU, and we are beyond thankful for every single nurse, doctor, and staff member who continues to pour their heart into his care. Norman Regional Healthplex is filled with true heroes, and our family will never forget what they are doing for us and for our little boy.
