I have been retired for years and my wife retired several months ago so we moved from Edmond to Eufaula. Since I lost my primary insurance I changed to Medicare and needed to find a new primary care physician. I selected Dr. Laura Black-Wicks. I had my first appointment yesterday and was extremely happy. When I first called they said it would be January before they could see me, holiday season, however since I had run out of one of my maintenance drugs they worked me in. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Dr. Black-Wicks spent plenty of time talking to me and adding medication to help my allergies. I was surprised at the Eufaula Health & Wellness Center. For a small town this center is really nice and well equipped. Highly recommend.

The OB/Nursery unit at McAlester Regional Health Center provided outstanding care during one of the most emotional and overwhelming experiences of our lives. Our son was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck three times and had swallowed amniotic fluid. He was placed on oxygen immediately and taken to the nursery shortly after birth. We weren't able to hold him right away, and that was heartbreaking, but the staff made sure everything was handled with urgency, compassion, and professionalism. Dr. Torbati delivered our son, and we are so thankful for his calm, confident presence during such a high-stress delivery. Every nurse and staff member in labor & delivery and the nursery went above and beyond to care not only for our baby, but for us as well. There's one moment that stands out so clearly: after delivery, his mom was desperate to go see him, but she was weak and overwhelmed. When she tried to get into a wheelchair, she nearly fell. One of the L&D nurses gently stepped in, not only helping her get dressed, but patiently working with her to sit down safely and making space to get her into the nursery. She saw how badly she wanted to be with her son, and she didn't rush it or brush it off. She stayed by her side, talked her through it, and even sat with her while she cried. We knew the staff cared about their jobs in that moment. That said, the hospital facility itself is in serious need of updates. Many areas are clearly outdated: cracked pavement in the parking lot, cramped and worn-down showers, old fixtures, and an overall sense that the building hasn't kept pace with the level of care being delivered. The staff are performing life-saving work in conditions that simply don't reflect the excellence they provide every day. We would recommend the OB/Nursery team at McAlester Regional Health Center 1,000 times over. They cared for our son with skill and urgency, and they cared for us with humanity, empathy, and heart. That kind of care changes you. We will always be grateful.

Excellent care and extremely friendly staff. Dr. Gannon and Mr. Josh are the best.... very caring and explains everything = October 10. Went to MRH ER couple of weeks ago and front desk, nurses, x-ray, ultrasound sound techs were great. Dr Blonce was beyond great. I thought I had a blood clot and him explaining things saying I didn't have one made my worried mine at ease. We all should be thankful for McAlester Regional Hospital.

My daughter has gone to the pediatric occupational therapy since she was six months old after spinal surgery. We have very much appreciated all the dedicated services that she has been given. Not only with the occupational therapy, but with physical therapy and beyond. I also want to give a shout of appreciation to the front staff Mrs. Joy makes sure everyone runs on time.
