Patient
Warning stay away from Dr. Velury and Comanche Memorial Hospital. My 75 year old Uncle has been a patient of Dr Velurys for many years and has received several stents. Velury put in a stent on June 23, 2025. He started having severe pain in his back through his chest, short of breath and dizziness about a week later. On Wed. we took him to Comanche County Memorial Hospital ER. They did blood work and the hospitalist stated he thought it was musculoskeletal, not his heart. I asked for a cardiology consult and he denied it. I insisted and the lead hospitalist called for a consult with Velury. When Velury came in he stated it was probably musculoskeletal but he would do an echo and stress test. The test did not show anything. They released him on Saturday. He was still feeling bad Monday so we took him to Oklahoma Heart Hospital in OKC. They admitted him and performed an angiogram Tuesday morning. The cardiologist found that Velury put the wrong size stent in and it had tore the artery on both sides causing a flap on both ends and blocking blood flow. There was another stent above the recent stent that also had to be repaired due to Velury putting in the wrong size stent. My uncle has to go back in 2 weeks to have another stent put in on another 80+% blockage Velury did not find. They are waiting 2 weeks due to the amount of dye he had and they did not want to damage his kidneys. DO NOT trust Comanche County Memorial or Dr. Velury with your loved one. By the grace of God we still have our family member. I am very thankful.
