I called this morning to ask questions about my heart function percentage, my sugar intake, and if I need to schedule an appointment to discuss if changing my sugar intake would help raise my number to avoid having a defibrillator put in, which is only 5-10% more than what my last echocardiogram results. I was told that this was not a question for a cardiologist. What? The doctors and nurses have been great and informative through this entire terrifying, life changing event in my life, so I don't want this to reflect on them at all. I just don't want to have surgery of any kind on my heart unless absolutely necessary and

I recently went back to the same facility and the people are nicer and treat you like a human being instead of another number. The quality of care has exponentially improved. The caregivers are treated me with respect. Their has been a marked improvement in treatment and care. I was told they would have a FedEx box to send a heart monitor back in to save me a trip from my hometown to Lawton. I was told very sarcastically they did not have a FedEx box and if they were to have any it would be only if they were supplied from Oklahoma City. I get a phone call back from the OKC office telling me I will have to pay for this to be sent FedEx back myself. Or I will have to drive back and drop it off myself at the Lawton office. This whole organization needs to get their information straight from the beginning. It would save alot of confusion. The lady that put the unit on was nice but sarcastic about the FedEx return box. So I must pay for $2000.00 in insurance and shipping costs for this unit. You would think Oklahoma Heart Hospital would have it together considering they do Heart Surgery everyday.

Brittany was kind on the phone; however, she was not accurate in telling me what was needed to schedule my appointment. She said she needed my Insurance Referral Auth- so, I faxed that over midday with my phone number on it. No return calls. I called back the next morning and received a different receptionist who said they needed reports from my Dr in order to schedule my appointment. I explained what Brittany said and was told she wasn't in the office today and they did not have my phone number. I let her know it is on my fax and she confirmed she did in fact have it but she just saw it. Manager April was also defensive that Brittany was not in the office when the real issue at hand was telling me what is needed to schedule an appt. They are scheduling 6-8 weeks out, so time is of the essence. She then started saying "Hello, I can't hear you, helllo..." and I have never heard from the clinic again. Thankfully, it took minutes for my insurance to change my referral to a new office all together so that I do not have to deal with the mess at OHH.

Rude and snarky staff member , "Ariel", who is answering the phones at the Lawton location needs an attitude check. She is quick to interrupt and gives off an aggressive tone while she talks. Showing a little patience and kindness when patients call for the first time would go a long way.

The entire receptionist team at this clinic is junior varsity at best. I tried to schedule an appointment unsuccessfully for the last 4 weeks although I have an active referral. They keep telling me that they can't find me despite me giving them my referral code and having my Primary Care Dr faxing them multiple copies. The last time I called they said they can't book because they are still waiting for my medical records. Why do you need my medical record to book my appointment? Can't you book me and get my medical record afterwards. This doesn't make any sense for 2 main reasons: 1. From a business standpoint this is silly because you are turning away business. 2. From a medical standpoint this is dangerous because you are delaying treatment.
