Dr Apala is really good. I would highly recommend him. He was able to take care of a blockage in my right leg. He really cares about you as a patient. His staff is friendly too! They answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable. Better than having to drive to Oklahoma City.

Finding an attentive cardiologist in this state is like finding a lifelong soulmate-- not easy, especially if you're younger in age. Dr. Apala looked at a scan I had done a year prior and immediately wasn't interested in hearing my concerns. He used the verbiage "I'm not concerned because of your age." He didn't want to hear about how almost everyone in my family has some type of genetic heart condition at young ages. He didn't want to hear about the chest pain so intense that I've passed out before (he literally rolled his eyes and changed the subject before I'd finished explaining). He didn't want to hear about the numerous hospital visits I've had, (outside of the minimal mercy files he was able to access himself). He wasn't interested in explaining to me what I've been experiencing the last couple of years and that conversation was the reason why I visited him. I had more luck understanding my cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, regurgitation, right bundle branch block, and left anterior fascicular block thanks to reading my old files online and googling these things myself. None of this has yet to be explained to me by a cardiologist personally. Talking him into doing a recent echo was no easy feat. I noticed his written description of the echo findings were lacking in detail compared to the last one I'd had. I assume he was just as preoccupied jotting that down as he was in the 5 minutes I spoke with him before he herded me out of his office. I didn't feel heard. I felt misunderstood and swept under the rug. This is not someone who cares about their patients. When I told him I'd felt unheard by my last cardiologist Dr. Freeman, he said "I went to school with him, he's a great guy and I won't listen to someone talk bad about him." All I said was that he didn't listen to me and I was wanting someone who would answer my questions and address my concerns. Not sure how that was an insult to his college drinking buddy but okie-dokey. I'm sad I have to give him even 1 star.

Excellent doctor with a mass amount of knowledge. I truly believe this man saved my life by just listening to my concerns and scheduling a cath lab to find the issue and then fixing it. Thank you, sir.
