UH Lake West Medical Center

Radiology. I recently had MRI with and without contrast 12/8/25 ordered by my PCP and pain specialist. The staff members I want to praise are Ashley, Holly and David. I was truly treated with respect, focused on my comfort and the tests went very well. Thankyou and especially assuring comfort due positioning .

I was admitted to Lake West for chest pain and shortness of breath. And even though I have chronic systolic congestive heart failure (14 years), I have a UH Harrington Heart Institute cardiologist (Dr. Robinson), and each of my hospitalizations was on one of the UH Harrington Heart Cardiac wings. And even though UH Lake West Hospital has a Harrington Cardiac wing, I was placed on a different floor, under the care of a Primary Care Physician (not a Cardiologist). While at the hospital, I had extensive testing done, and each time I asked the Primary Care Physician about the test results, his answer was always, Everything is normal. While looking at my online medical chart, I saw that everything was indeed not normal. Each test had a highlighted box that said ABNORMAL! ABNORMAL! ABNORMAL! Straight down the line, for each test. But, the most disturbing test aspect, which I had to Google to understand, said that I'd had a prior myocardial infarction ... A Heart Attack! While the Primary Care Physician masquerading as a Cardiologist continued to tell me all my tests were "normal." And it was understandable that he couldn't comprehend or interpret the test results; the man could barely speak English. Also, while hospitalized, a recurring issue with bloody urine arose. At the same time, a UTI was noted. I was sent for a kidney and bladder Ultrasound that showed a small, unobstructed renal blockage. Again, I had to read my online chart and Google the meaning myself. I was given a liquid antibiotic through the IV and an oral antibiotic. But I was never seen by a urologist or referred to one for a follow-up visit. Even my Nurse thought this was odd, and suggested I make my own Urology appointment. All of the hands-on Staff at UH Lake West were the nicest people you'd ever want to meet, but there appears to be a disconnect between the focus, caring, and competency of the higher-up decision makers. Perhaps, University Hospitals should consider a more thorough review of medical centers before inviting them to become a part of UH.

Lab department is TERRIBLE! The system kept going down, staff sitting around talking amd laughing meanwhile a lobby full of people waiting to be served. The kiosk checkin only one worked. No one could help anyone with the system. Its a mess. Its all do it yourself. Soon we will be dying surgery and still insurance will be astronomical.

I had bloods samples taken for my quest diagnosis. Bathroom was disgusting. If nurse didn't come in they would have left someone's urine sample behind. The towel under it was not replaced, as there was urine residue on it. Very contaminated and dirty conditions for both the bathroom and blood area. Everything looks disorganized and I could see other patients samples and urine samples. The lady doing my labs was professional and quick. Please clean your area and get rid of all the unnecessary junk

Drs here treated me and helped my condition improve. Other network changed my meds and that brought me to ER by ambulance. Drs gave me proper meds and new perscription and it's few years later it's still helping me. Thank you for kindness
