The person that answers the phone in the Toledo office is HORRIBLE. The Dr himself is fine. I've had a bad experience everytime I have talked to his front desk person. I don't know if that's his wife but she treats people extremely poorly! First I called to try and get switched to a doctor closer to my home because it's a 45 min drive from where I live now and she told me I was not aloud to switch doctors. My sister works for mercy health care and she told me that was not true and that I have freedom of choice of my doctor. I looked up doctors and saw Dr Maly has an office in Oregon which saves me 20 minutes so I called back to see if I could see him in that office instead of driving all the way to Toledo and she acted like it was such a chore to move my apt around to his second office but did it anyway. Second I called to get my prescription that was never sent to the pharmacy after my appointment, 6 months I waited and I finally had a day off work to call and she blamed me and said I was supposed to have my family doctor take over the meds which is not even true because i was never told that and she was not even at the oregon office when i had my appointment! I was never told that by the doctor and the last apt I had with him he told me he couldn't write the prescription until I got my blood work done so I went right after the appointment to do the blood work. The lady im complaining about from his office called me the next day and gave me the results so I know his office got them! So why would he tell me that I had to get the blood work done so he could write my prescription if he was planning on having my family doc take over???? On the call with her she argued with me about it for 5 minutes and then I finally said it doesn't. matter I still need the prescription 6 months later and she finally gave in and said they would call it in! Now why do I have to call to get a script that was already supposed to be done? Because of this phone answering lady I switched to a new doctor that was closer to my home last month and saw the new cardiologist and got a stress test done and it came up positive so I called Dr Malys office for a second opinion on what to do and again she got on the phone and told me that I choose to leave and there is no going back now. I think it's completely unhelpful and ridiculous that she makes all of his decisions for him and gets on the phone and argues with heart patients in the first place. It is frustrating and hurtful that I can not go see the doctor I have known for years to get his opinion on my heart issue! What happened to doctors are supposed to help people in need of help and doctors that care about their patients enough to tell their phone people to be kind and act like our patients are our family. That's hard to find anymore and I'm just heart broken that this lady even works in the field!!!
