OhioHealth Pickerington Methodist Hospital

My dad is currently an inpatient here, and I have to say, this is the nicest hospital facility I've ever been to with him. The staff is incredibly nice, you are greeted with a smile when you walk in, and I've been kept in the loop by his care team the entire time. The rooms are AMAZING for patients and caregivers. I know what's it's like to spend 8 hours sitting in a folding chair with a 27 inch TV with nothing but basic cable. At Pickerington Methodist I sit in a nice recliner or a full couch and he and I pick a movie on demand from his hospital-provided tablet and I can actually relax. Thank you for taking such good care of my dad but also making it a welcoming, comfortable place for caregivers. Just as an aside, there is a PSA named Larry that my dad absolutely adores. I wish I knew his last name, but the PSA named Larry on floor 6 deserves recognition.

I waited a week to write this. Let's start with the paramedics. My husband was extremely sick and had been vomiting for more than 24 hrs, he was EXTREMELY dizzy and extremely stressed. From the coughing and throwing up he literally hurt his back from throwing up. So when the paramedics arrived they took him and while he was in the squad my husband threw up, totally missing the barf bag. They got p- off because he missed the bag! Then while he was in the emergency room last Sunday (23rd of November) Am shift. I have personally have NEVER witnessed Doctors and Nurses behave in such a way that was more like a "Club" behavior. Laughing, talking so loud I heard every single bit of their conversations. I then went to go get coffee "which was free" so many were on Facebook, shopping and talking about other patients and other people. It's great to have people who get along, but not on our dime ( per say).How the emergency room is set up the Doctor and nurses are in the center surrounded by rooms of SICK PEOPLE!!! So my opinion is I don't recommend this emergency room Hospital at ALL!! Maybe it was just that staff Idk. We were there for 7 hours no one checked on him asked if he needed anything. So Pickerington Methodist Hospital I'm not judging the entire Doctor and Nursing staff just the ones that are taking advantage of the Hospital and the community that NEEDS perfessionalism in the ER. Oh and btw the security at that time are a joke. Looking at people snarling their nose as we walked by. I accidentally caught that look, but it happened!! Let me also state, one male nurse was funny and kind to my husband, he was the one that gave him his release paperwork, didn't catch his name, he's the only one that acted perfessional. Doctors West always has had a bad rap but they're the ones that saved my husband's life 12 years ago. I will go out of my way to go there before ever stepping foot in Pickerington Methodist Hospital again!

I delivered my baby girl here 2 weeks ago. Every single staff that I had an interaction with from the moment I walked in to the moment I left was incredible. This is my first baby so I had no idea what I was doing or walking into. Everyone communicated and explained things very well. They are all so patient and kind. When I needed help all staff went above and beyond. Extremely pleased, i've never been in any other part of this hospital besides maternity but I can say that if I ever have another baby I will only be coming to this hospital.

I was here about a year and a half ago for complications that was caused by COVID (pneumonia), which caused severe dehydration. From the moment I stepped into the Urgent care area, I felt as if I was being treated as a person, not someone who was just sick. The nurses, doctors, even the staff checking people in, everyone was professional and courteous. It was not just me that was treated this way, everyone who was already there and those coming in were all meet with a smile. These actions continued as I was taken back to an exam room and then up into the time I was actually admitted to the hospital. Everyone that I came into contact (during my weeks stay) with made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be. Every time anyone was in the room they would address me by my name and tell me who they were what they were doing and why, from the doctors, nurses and even the folks who came into clean. I cannot express enough, my gratitude to all of the individuals that were there to assist me during the stay, but Pickerington Methodist Hospital's staff, I am forever grateful!

When my family or I find ourselves in an emergency room, the last thing we need is to overhear security personnel engaging in inappropriate conversations. Recently, during a distressing visit, I was disheartened to hear their derogatory remarks about "ghetto people" moving into Pickerington and taking over. Such offensive comments are not only unacceptable but also deeply out of place in a setting where patients and families are already experiencing vulnerability. It's truly baffling how anyone could make such sweeping and insensitive generalizations, especially when so many new developments consist of poorly constructed, overpriced homes. It is utterly outrageous that individuals are subjected to this kind of commentary during their most trying moments, simply because someone chooses to voice their biases. Emergency rooms should be sanctuaries of care and compassion, where the focus is on healing rather than prejudice. All staff members must check their personal biases at the door and create an environment that prioritizes the well-being of every individual. I have no interest in hearing security staff member mumbling about living in Licking County, or living 3 minutes away up the street or any other irrelevant anecdotes; such personal stories have no place in a professional healthcare setting. When we seek help in these facilities, we are looking for support and understanding, and that should be the singular focus of the staff. As a result of these troubling experiences, I have made the firm decision that OhioHealth will never receive my family's patronage again. I do not feel safe in any of their facilities, especially when security personnel exhibit attitudes that marginalize and alienate patients when they are most in need. It is critical for healthcare environments to foster inclusivity and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. This should not only be a priority but an absolute expectation. *The security that were at the desk this morning was an asian dude, a *biracial dude* and a white woman.*
