Patient
Dr. Parikh was very dismissive of my tachycardia concerns. He had attributed this tachycardia to anxiety, stimulants, and other causes that are not inherently relevant when given my history. Things I told him: * my symptoms * I drink 4 cups of coffee per WEEK. I corrected him on this twice during the visit * I have been diagnosed with anxiety and have been on medication for it * I am on stimulants for ADHD and I am UNWILLING to go off of them because they improve my quality of life * tachycardia and high heart rate were present prior to ANY stimulant usage. * I am in therapy and have been for over a year. His notes proceed to say that I drink 4 cups per day, his plan was to cut me off of all stimulants use and that I need a psychiatric referral for ADHD treatment... This is not noted, but he also said that he would not put me on a beta blocker until we see if my symptoms go away without stimulants. He also told me that I could go to multiple cardiologists and they would tell me the same thing. I got a second opinion with my dad's cardiologist and am now on beta blockers which have improved my quality of life even further. Turns out that I didn't have to go to multiple other cardiologists because the second one did not tell me the same thing.
