Ammar Safar, MD, FACP, specializes in cardiology. He received his medical degree from the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine in Syria. He completed his residency at St. Elizabeth Health Center, and he completed fellowships at Kettering Health Main Campus. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine since 2001; in Comprehensive Adult Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Disease since 2011; and in Endovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology since 2012.

Dr Safar performed a heart cath on me. The catheter went in my wrist. I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. I felt some mild vibrations in my forearm. He was funny, high energy, good bedside manner and was really nice when I got the news I needed bypass. I highly recommend Dr Safar, KMC and his team! They were all amazing! Thank you Dr Safar Ps. He did not treat my father properly despite being short of breath and oxygen being in low 80's at the office... would not refer him to a pulmonologist ... would not order him oxygen...my father died because of this negligent greedy dr. He was a victim of malpractice. This dr was so focused on making money and not treating their patient. My father was a gentle man who died way before he should have.
Dr. Safar was first on scene in the ER to save my mother's life this week. He was genuinely concerned for her well being, treatment, and after care. I am grateful for Dr. Safar's thoroughness, talent, professionalism, and taking the time to explain the procedure and results with compassion and dignity. Our experience was also greatly enhanced by the excellent, invaluable nursing staff at Kettering Medical Center. Thank you!!
This doctor and his excellent team saved my life when I had a heart attack while vacationing in the Dayton area from Colorado. He implanted two stents in my LAD. He communicated with me throughout the entire procedure keeping me informed and putting me at ease with what was happening in what was such a difficult and scary situation for me. I'll be forever grateful for his skills and knowledge. Highly recommended. Thank you Dr. Safar and team!
