So I was medically neglected for one of the reasons I went in there by Jamie Duck, PA-C. I went in there for "flu-like symptoms", and fell in the shower. I only got treated for the sickness. NO ONE touched me, NO ONE did x-rays or CT on my hip and shoulder, the only time when I got asked about my pain levels was the front desk they seem like they were the only ones that cared. And that incompetent doctor didn't put it on my discharge papers
My grandfather was put onto the ICU for shortness of breath. He was on the ventilator for three days one of the most scary times for me and my family. He came off the ventilator by the grace of God And most of the time there, he did have some very amazing nurses his first day off the ventilator was a very, very rough day. I'm sure you can imagine he couldn't get comfortable. He was in pain on top of him having crippling anxiety. It was just a very rough 2 to 3 days when he first got off the ventilator on November 12 he had a nurse in the ICU. Her name was Jessica. She was the night shift. She came in at seven. When I tell you, this nurse was the most unprofessional uncaring nurse I've quite literally ever met. My grandpa only wanted ice chips. He was allowed a certain diet, but all he wanted was ice chips. His throat was dry as crap for being on a ventilator for three days so he's asking his nurse to give him ice chips he's very uncomfortable. He needs moved around certain ways. This lady walks into the room and tells him you're gonna have to figure out what you want because I'm not coming back in here every 10 minutes. I have other things I could be Doing While I'm laying there next to my grandpa and mind you. I've been feeding him that ice chips I haven't been to bed in two days just like he hasn't been to bed in two days not that I care. I wanted to be there to help him. She made him so uncomfortable. The next time he needed to press the call button I had to do it because he was too scared to Because of the way she acted towards him. My grandpa laying in a hospital bed told this nurse that he was sorry and that just blew my mind. I couldn't take it. Why should he be? He's trying to get help from the people that are supposed to help him and he's sorry ?? And she didn't even acknowledge him saying that either I just think some people are meant to be nurses and some people aren't hopefully they can get this lady out of there because I never would want someone to feel what my grandpa felt two days after being off the ventilator And back to his anxiety, my grandpa didn't sleep for three days straight. I asked several different nurses if he could have anxiety medication that I knew he would be able to sleep if he had anxiety meds. His anxiety is off the charts right now because he just got off of ventilator and Lord only knows what else he's thinking not one nurse would listen to me. They move him off the ICU onto ICM I asked his nurse Amber about anxiety medication. She got some for him and he slept the entire night after three days of no sleeping after being taken off of ventilator. I hate to Even make a somewhat negative review on this place because at the end of the day they did help save my grandpa's life But again, some nurses need more compassion. They're there for the money not the care for the patients some of them at least.
If you'd like to go to a hospital that doesn't tell the family anything honest about the care of their loved one, especially the one acting as MEDICAL POWER OF ATTORNEY, then look no further! This is the place for you. My father has been in this "hospital" for for over a week. I can't speak for the entirety of the staff, but the ones who have dealt with my father have been lying & incompetent at best. My dad was outright hallucinating & they were saying he was ready for discharge. Mind you, my father went from being completely self sufficient to full insanity delusions. My brother had to DEMAND a psych evaluation. Big surprise, but that doctor (who actually did his job) told them that my dad was absolutely not ready to be discharged & that he was also not competent to make his own medical decisions. This entire staff has done nothing but lie about the condition of my dad. And that's if they reach out AT ALL!!! My brother (POA) got the call today that dad was ready to be discharged..... AN HOUR BEFOREHAND! We all work full time jobs & now they're scrambling to find some way to pick him up, all because of the outright NEGLECT of this hospital. This review is long enough, but that's just the tip of this underhanded iceberg & charges against this facility will be filed.
Hospitalist, CHANDRA MOULL PALLA, md showed gross negligence, repugnant bedside manner and over all the WORST doctor everyone in the room has ever had the displeasure of encountering, mind you to a possible stroke victim. He performed no tests, whispered under his breath while reading from a paper folded inward for only him to see "she believes you had a stroke" (my 35 year old husband who had already spent a day in the ER and a night in ICU doing numerous tests and what have you) and then when he was asked to repeat it, he said well maybe, or yeah, maybe just a migraine....... This along with saying my husband, the patient, needed to take cholesterol pills (was told he doesn't)... was ALL said AFTER we had called him back into the room because he was walking out, halfway out the door, talking over us, while uttering zero information, nor answering a thing, all because we were questioning why if they believed he had a stroke didn't he receive a MRI that Saturday, upon his arrival to the ER, in the early afternoon. He, named above and Neurologist, Zelkka Chobanov, MD wanted him to stay another night solely to get an MRI that Monday, no other reason, as they do not do MRI's on Sunday's. SO, it was serious enough to stay two nights but not serious enough to receive an MRI Saturday (upon his arrival when MRI's are routinely done) or Sunday, as it was explained to us multiple times in cases where they believe such an MRI can be done on Sunday's... just not for him!! Many things, if not all was left unexplained, because he scurried out. We asked for an MRI to be scheduled outpatient for Monday, so we could get some answers and a proper nights rest at home, because he was showing no signs anymore... all tests, vitals, bloodwork... all of it looked good and most agreed, other than the names listed, another night was impractical and made no sense, everything looked great, good to go! Mr. Palla without explanation refused our request and said he'd have to stay another night and wait or he wouldn't receive his MRI that could confirm if he had a stroke or not. Simply because, as was written on the discharge against medical advice paperwork (he gave no advice), due to the lack of medical equipment and staff for an MRI! SO, because they lack the capacity to care for ALL their patients, at ALL times, we will and now have had to risk it and go with a completely different network, which in this case can only be an improvement. Covering your own butt is one thing, the much simpler way would have been covering it upon the patients arrival, called it in on a Sunday or schedule it outpatient... NOPE you rather a possible stroke victim walkout due to the negligence of those doctors! As ALL were aware of how we felt and what our intentions were and agreed. We left with ZERO answers and medical debt! Almost feels like a scam... throw a bunch of stuff against the wall, see what catches and then almost tell you but decide not to. Also, have a doctor treat and talk to you like you're a peasant all the while charging you thousands, knowing you'll leave because of, with possibly just having a stroke!!!!!! My husband doesn't have a family history of strokes, I do and am very familiar, not a single one has ever had ANY of this happen!! Just duct tape Urgent Care to the side of the building, at least give people a warning of the quality or lack of care they'll receive. The nurses are FANTASTIC! But if you have a choice of where you're taking your loved one/s for medical care, choose elsewhere! That's what we are and will continue to do!!!
