I was recently hospitalized after a serious car accident, and I'm deeply grateful for the exceptional care I received. My neurosurgeon, Dr. Baum, provided outstanding expertise and reassurance. On the 5th floor, Thomas Gregory (day nurse) and Matt (tech) offered consistent, compassionate support, while Kayla, the lead nurse, was always organized, present, and helpful. My evening nurse, Charlotte, delivered wonderful, attentive care each night. I also want to acknowledge Rob Fusner, Jeneba, Mahendra with the Nutritional Services team, and the many others who stepped in whenever needed. Even with the challenges of short staffing, the teamwork, professionalism, and genuine kindness shown by everyone made a tremendous difference in my recovery. Special thanks as well to my "virtual assistant," Michelle B., for her steady support throughout this experience.

My mother was recently admitted. The inpatient nurses let it be known to her that they really don't care for her race of people. Additionally, she wasn't given any meals while there because they didn't know how to deal with someone with dietary restrictions. They did give her several bags of pretzels and an apple. The doctor was made aware and said 'its fine if she doesn't eat'. We've unfortunately had many hospital experiences in the Columbus area and Mt Carmel East is easily the worst.

This review is specifically about PRE-OP care for outpatient surgery. I have waited over 2 months to see if I have healed and haven't . For my IV I told Kathy that I had teeny tiny veins and needed teeny tiny needle -a22 unless had smaller. She said well you're having a big surgery and need a big needle which was so painful. When I told her that she said yeah it will hurt. Then I had this incredible pain and she said I just ripped your skin off . And she left very quickly. Next day at home I pulled off gauze and skin came with it. Very long very deep wound that should have had treatment. I did call email etc Mt Carmel and it took weeks for someone to respond. No one seemed to care that I will be scarred for life. There should have been stitches instead of just putting gauze on it. A few weeks later I get a letter just say it's been investigated that's it. I would not go to Mount Carmel outpatient surgery again. I have had numerous experiences at Mount Carmel outpatient surgery, but this team was terrible. Also, the nurse who put stuff in my nose for infection was so rough. It was painful and uncomfortable and then because I'm so small they didn't give me enough of the nerve block so in recovery room I was in agonizing pain. Nerve locks have always stayed with me about a day day and a half. This was a really bad experience. The surgery itself was wonderful. They took really good care recovery took care of me, but that preop that Team was awful. Here is a picture of my wound close to three months later

I was at MCE yesterday due to all my #s being off. They tried to give me Vancomycin, which caused Kidney Failure last year and should have been heavily documented. I set them straight on that medication. I was starving by 8pm, I got a cold, dry turkey sandwich! I woke up this morning believing they would give me all my morning meds...NOPE! I have to have prednisone every morning in order to function properly; I don't have a pituitary gland, so the prednisone is imperative. I got home, by Uber, (That's a whole other story!)and went about my day. Around 7pm, I went to take a nap. I jumped up all of a sudden and felt like I was going to die. After a few minutes,, I looked at my paperwork and saw they never gave me the prednisone!!!!! I might just die on my own and never go back to Mt Carmel East where they don't check anything and could possibly kill you!!!!!!!!! On another note. Mt Carmel East got $1 million from my insurance last year and this is what I get??????? They ordered an Uber for me! While on Broad St, between Mcnaughten and Reynoldsburg-New Albany Rd, the Uber driver flew through a red light! He knew I was disabled, bc I had a hospital walker when I approached his vehicle. He let me out, with no help getting through the ice! I managed to get through the ice by myself and walked, poorly, to my apartment!
