Patient
After contracting covid just once, my life came to a screeching halt. For years, I've been seeing provider after provider trying desperately to achieve some sort of quality of life again. Dr. Mayuga is as compassionate as he is well-informed on a condition so many of us have been told was all in our heads. He is incredibly thorough and ensured my appointment never felt rushed despite knowing how slammed he is with patients. He made a point to listen and answer my questions without making me feel judged and has such an easy way of communicating with sincere respect and a desire to help his patients. If I could spare the fluids, I would have cried with gratitude because the validation and guidance has been so hard to come by. Whether it's previous employers/coworkers exhibiting judgement and hostility, disability insurance accusing me of inventing my symptoms and not trying to get better despite copious documented evidence otherwise, or the "doctor" who told me that the syndrome I asked about was "a TikTok fad" before immediately referring me to psych and denying me any options to consider without so much as offering a reason why. It's been a long road to get to this point, but I finally feel like I have a chance at living my life again even if I've still got a ways to go yet. Thank you for what you do, Dr. Mayuga! I feel truly fortunate to have found myself under your care!
