Patient
DO NOT LET THIS DOCTOR TOUCH YOU. do not let him do any vascular surgery or vein removal procedures on you. I had a chemical vein ablation done 10 days ago and he admitted that he slipped out of the vein during the procedure and I have had NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS since. This was described as a simple outpatient procedure with an easy recovery. I've had 2 babies-- the recovery from childbirth was less painful. This has been a nightmare. I will be contacting a medical malpractice lawyer today. I have been in an out of the ER and all these appointments since I got this done trying to figure out why my foot and ankle is in so much pain. The doctor literally ignored my messages I sent over the weekend showing the redness and swelling in my ankle and foot. I keep getting told by these nurses and assistants that it should heal and get better. The pain has gotten worse. Nothing has gotten better. Love when a doctor screws up and he takes no accountability for his actions, shows no remorse, doesn't care to follow up with you, etc. our medical system is so broken. Well at least he admitted he did slip out of the vein and that's what caused the injury, I'll be telling a medical malpractice lawyer today. Something needs to be done about this facility. Metro is a joke. It's a good place to get screwed up worse than you were when you a have more medical problems then when you came in. Seriously I'm warning everyone out there do not let this man do anything to you! ** 6/18 going to get a second opinion at a vein clinic that only does vein procedures. Will get the real story of what went wrong. **7/1 was confirmed by Nelson Vein surgical center that I had a DVT in my posterior tibial vein. This was the reason for the extreme pain and swelling. They saw it right away on ultrasound. I don't know what's wrong with the people working at metro, why they couldn't figure it out after 5 trips in and out of ER's and follow up appointments, what this place was able to find in 5 minutes. I am writing this now on 11/4 so Ive already completed my 4 month stretch on a blood thinner to treat the DVT. Thank God it was confirmed middle of last month that my DVT was finally gone. It was completely occlusive with 2-3 inches of inflammation around the clot. Without treatment it would have likely dislodged and I would have had a PE. I would have no got the treatment at metro, as they were done with me. They kept telling me everything was fine and there was nothing else they could do for me. This was the worst experience I've ever had with the medical system in my entire life. Even after having months to reflect on what happened, I still feel the same. Traumatic and unacceptable. If I had a PE I could very well have died. Also adding that the doctor at Nelson Vein surgical center said what she believes went wrong was that the medicine was not properly cut off from being able to flow backwards during the procedure, so some of it seeped into the posterior tibial vein which is part of the deep vein system. This medication specifically cannot be used on any deep veins, or it will be extremely problematic like it was for me. Complete incompetence and negligence by Dr Persky and the whole team that treated me.
