Alvin Kpaeyeh, MD has a horrible bedside manner. My mother has been in the hospital with a very complex medical history. Without explanation she was placed on NPO which frightened her. She laid in her hospital room all day with no food or water or explanation as to what was happening other then they were "prepping her for surgery" but no one knew why. Dr Kpaeyeh finally came to see her late in the afternoon and was unreceptive to the questions that I and my family had. After requesting a transfer to another hospital for lack of communication and what appeared to be lack of care for human feelings he became offended. He put a narrative in her mychart basically saying the nurse was to blame as well as stating I "yelled" at him. I never yelled once. I was firm and insisted on clear answers prior to allowing him to perform a surgery on my very sick mother. This appears to be yet another attempt to try and pass the buck instead of accepting that there was possibility of human error and something was over looked in her chart. I will add we had her transferred to another hospital and her cardiologist agreed that a pacemaker at this point was too risky and wouldn't be advised due to infection. Too bad Dr Kpaeyeh refused to listen to my concerns and questions and insisted on proceeding with his agenda. I'm so thankful I pushed for a transfer. Run from any dr or institution that has issue with questions being asked. Patients as well as their families have a right to ask questions without fear of repercussion.
