This place was GROSS . I waited forever just to see the doctor and when I finally did this dude was literally on his phone the whole time. Like bro...are you Googling my symptoms on WebMD cause I could've done that at home. Then he told me to go wait for labs but while I was waiting I started actually looking around and OMG. Dust and stains with random mystery stuff on the floor. I was like NOPE. I left before anyone tried to stab me with a needle. I'd rather just drink ginger ale and hope for the best.

I have been going to Hope Mills Medical Clinic since 2012 and Janice at the front desk is such a delight. She always greets me with a smile. She is very attentive and prompt to help me with any of my needs. She makes for a seemless visit.

I have been a patient here over 15 years, and at a recent appointment this past Thursday I came in and saw my provider about a bug infestation that was in my home, I had bug bites all over me, my house was infested, and my two dogs were also scratching. I had called a pest control service prior and was told that if the bug had infested me, my house, and my dogs, that it could be scabies and i needed to see my doctor and a vet for treatment. My provider Josephine Wambua was very concerned but didn't run any tests to see if i in fact had scabies since i had a vet appointment the next day, she thought that the vet would be able to confirm if my dogs had mange and we would go from there, but did check me for lyme disease, and told me to call her if i the vet said it wasn't mange, so she could do further testing. Well unfortunately when I went to the vet, the vet didnt run any tests either, and said my dogs DIDN'T have mange, which is the dog form of scabies so I attempted to call the clinic because Dr Josephine Wambua had told me to do that. I spoke with receptionist Janice, and I asked her if i could speak with my provider and Janice started probing and asking why i needed to talk to her about, so i tried to explain to Janice how i had been to the vet and that my dogs didn't have mange, and she asked me what I wanted my provider to do about it, and I told her that Dr Josephine needed to run tests and find out what was going on, like Dr Josephine had told me to do. Janice then started weighing in on something she definitely had no knowledge of, and asked if my dogs maybe just had fleas. I told her that if it was fleas, I would be able to see them because fleas are black and my dogs both have white chests, and I have checked both my dogs and regularly pay money for flea and tick prevention, so it definitely isn't that. She then weighed in again on something she has no knowledge about, and told me that all dogs have fleas, it doesn't matter how clean you think they are. I then told her that I had been living in the same house for 10 years, and using the same flea and tick prevention for 10 years as well, and never had a flea infestation before, so why now. She told me that I absolutely would not be able to talk to my provider Dr Josephine because she was with patients all day. So i called back and spoke with another receptionist and made an appointment and i wont be able to be seen for another 2 weeks almost. So when you are in the room with the provider, and given instructions to call back or come back if the problem persists, there is no guarantee that you will be able to do that, and that it will be as simple as the provider says, due to the fact that when you need to do that, the receptionist will filter the calls and she will decide if you can talk to the provider or not. They also make the appointments, so unfortunately I can't make them put me in any sooner if the schedule is full, and they dont care about your concerns and don't care if your situation is urgent. I have never had a problem with Janice before, and I think I deserve an apology from her, because she is not a vet and if you pay for flea and tick prevention ALL DOGS DON'T HAVE FLEAS. I am hoping someone from this clinic can speak with Janice and tell her she was incorrect to try to argue with me about something she doesn't know about, and she was also incorrect to not allow me to speak with my provider. So this review is definitely not about my provider Dr Josephine Wambua, she is very thorough and excellently knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. The way i was treated by the receptionist Janice was completely unacceptable. I will be coming back to find out my results for my last test for Lyme disease, and I may make the decision to never come back to this clinic again, due to how I was treated by Janice.

OK, maybe it ain't pretty and it had bad reviews under the last owner. I am a new patient. Easy to get initial appointment, registration staff very friendly , ON TIME APPOINT.ENTS, Dr. Brey took all the time necessary to go through my records (no small feat). Very understanding and patient. If you are looking for hometown setting, give them a try.
