I was admitted to Moses Cone for a stroke on Wednesday and released on Friday. Everyone that I dealt with in the ICU was great. My issue is the people they scheduled follow up appointment. My primary did not have any openings in the time frame they wanted . So they set an appointment with an office affiliated with my primary. The person I was supposed to see was Charanpreet Kaur. I arrived early. Was put in a room at my appointment time. Five minutes later a RN came in and told me this person refuses to see me as she does not do follow up to hospital visits. They took my money for the copay. But refuses to see me. When I told them to refund my money they did not want me to leave. I was just to sit in this room until they decided I could leave. So after sitting there 30 minutes I told who ever was sitting on the other side of the door that I wanted my refund and I was leaving. As I proceded to leave 4 people from that office followed me to the parking lot telling me I couldn't leave. OK you can't see me for an appointment that the hospital set up. I paid my copay before walking in and you are telling me I can't leave. I left and will never go back. They do not care for their patients .

I broke four ribs and had a lung punctured on a stupid tripping fall. I cannot say enough about the doctors, nurses, and nursing techs that took care of me. They deserve more than five stars and I would recommend ignoring the ridiculous reviews. I had a stay for six days and I honestly feel I do not want to go anywhere else. Had to find the right food combo but they had some decent stuff. I would probably put a negative review for the food vendor

Healthcare is about people. Cone has some good people who care and Cone has some people only employed their for the check and benefits. The Medcenter ER in HighPoint is a copy of a design first used by Carolina Healthcare in Anson county. Essentially a mini-hospital. The staff and medical professionals where very good. Ambulance team was qualified and professional. The main Cone hospital...Well a larger facility means a larger and more diverse group of employees. The Allied security guards where great, along with every other support and customer/patient service person. Sodexo food services was better than expected and high quality. The 4th floor east staff, depending on shift, where highly motivated to give care, or in one case, a Nurse said three words to me that should NEVER come out of a medical professionals mouth when I stated my IV had became damaged (pictured) and I asked for it to be removed and I was conveniently brushed off. The words " I DONT CARE" in reference to removing the damaged IV, Those are the only words my brain focused on. Apart from that disturbing and unpleasant reply. I found the majority of the Healthcare team professional and highly competent.

I went through some of the reviews for this hospital and it's not good. My son in law came to the emergency room for abdominal pain. He was seen and placed in a room fairly quickly. He was put on morphine for pain and was trying to rest put the nurses kept coming in and out talking extremely loud. I know they have a job to do and or probably understaffed. The lay out of this hospital is difficult to navigate so pack your patients.

My daughter had to be admitted to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for a week. This was my first experience with Moses Cone. From the admitting department, all the way to her discharge I was thoroughly pleased with the care she received! Immediately upon arriving she was wheeled to the unit. Right away her nurse Janique came in and introduced herself and let us know she'd be taking care of my daughter. She was very pleasant and really engaged in conversation with us as she gathered the information she needed. She showed such compassion and answered all questions we had. She didn't act rushed or like we were a bother, which I really appreciated. She listened compassionately to our concerns as well. Dr. Yadav, the neurologist came in within a couple hours of my daughters arrival to the unit. She explained to us very thoroughly what they were looking for and the ways they would capture that data. She made sure to fully understand the history of seizures and asked detailed questions in order to understand better. She then answered all the questions we had and shared some helpful feedback that put our minds at ease and also helped us to feel fully supported in our search for answers. Dr. Yadav called me with updates as I had to work and wanted to be sure that I understood what was happening with my daughter. She is truly an amazing provider that genuinely cares about her patients. Her compassion comes through with each interaction. Midweek I brought my granddaughters to see their Mom. We learned that visitors could also order a meal and pay an inexpensive $6 for it. So we were all able to have a meal together in the room. Given that she wasn't allowed out of bed, this allowed us an opportunity to spend some more time together. A lady by the name of Erica took our orders and was so patient with my youngest granddaughter. She was professional and kind. She impressed me enough that I made sure to get her name. My daughter connected with a few different staff members during the week. Many of which I do not know their names. But she shared how they were kind and talked to her, making her feeling at ease. That meant a lot to me. She said the food was pretty good. I enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Caesar salad and the banana pudding was exceptional! My granddaughter rated her burger an 8/10. The mac and cheese is also really good according to the family. The facility is very clean and neat looking. Very pleasing to the eye. There is free parking for visitors which I appreciated. There is also free valet service! I am really impressed with what I saw and experienced at Moses Cone. Just an FYI: this review is coming from someone who works at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Well done, Cone Health!
