I found Dr. Thompson to have a very "cold" doctor/patient demeanor. He asked questions and typed into computer, had an EKG done, listened to my heart, ordered an echocardiogram and a week with a heart monitor, said to see him in a year! There was no discussion of my concerns/fears about my heart. I told him my right leg had been swelling, he felt my ankle and said "there's no swelling"! My swelling is usually in the evening when it happens, NOT 10:00 in the morning. There was no follow-up with Dr. Thompson concerning the results of my tests. A nurse called me a couple weeks later and just said I had a "mildly leaky heart valve", some irregular heartbeat but all was fine and again, they would see me in a year! I am almost 77, live alone and feel I was just a nuisance "old dog" darkening his door. They will be happy as I won't return.
