I went because of heart palpitations that get bad during pregnancy and I had hit my out of pocket max so I figured since my OB referred me, why not? First visit was fine though the Dr. I saw was dismissive. I ended up doing the 14 day heart monitor thing and had to wait 6 weeks for the result. When I went in for my appointment I was called in an HOUR later than my appointment time and literally just told everything was normal. Couldn't have done that over the freaking phone? Now I was billed the copay and literally none of their phone numbers are working properly for me to pay and when I called and was sent to billing and left a message a week ago I have not been called back... so not sure how to pay my bill that I was charged for a doctor to do nothing since the results were sent to a center to be read anyways.

This review is pertaining to Dr Alan Manniet, 1st of all my husband is a heart patient & we have dealt with Eastern Cardiovascular for almost 10 years (we typically go to the obx office because they are much more pleasant than the Elizabeth city office but they have closed down at obx), the Dr named above didn't even introduce himself when he came in the room, he sat down said we are taking you off of this, that & the other with no questions asked at all. We were in the room for a total of 5 mins, he was in a big hurry I suppose, no patient skills at all, didn't ask my husband if he's had any issues or concerns, just straight to rearranging his medicines then let us go. Needless to say, after we left we called our primary care doctor to get a referral to Chesapeake Regional right across the street. Primary care doctor even said she's heard some not so good things about Eastern Cardiovascular lately, I would say that has to be true considering there is a 2.3 rating on your reviews. We will never go back there, very sorry to see the obx office closed, I'm pretty sure you all will lose a lot more patients. Also, they have signs posted everywhere you look that they no longer give out samples, even in the restrooms, then what do the drug reps give them samples for? Not the patients apparently.

I had an appt with Dr maiet. He was thee most unprofessional Dr that I have experienced. He did not examine me at all. My test results came back negative but my symptoms still persist. Dr maniet was more interested in "whose paying for this" once he saw the VA was paying for it he ordered another test for me.
It seems like Dr maniet is more interested in billing his patients insurance rather than providing any actual medical care.
I recommend finding a different cardiologist. Absolute joke of a Dr. You will not receive adequate care here stay away.

I got a letter from them with a scheduled appt. How did they know that was a good time for me? When I called to reschedule I could not get the receptionist to understand that early to mid afternoon was a good time. While trying to explain what was a good time of day, to reschedule to was, she hung up on me. I hope there cardiologists are OK with a limited number of patients because they have appts. readily available which I assume will happen when your receptionist hangs up on customers calling in to schedule a new appt.

Highly disappointing! A veterinarian practice for pets shows more patient awareness!
I am a disabled Veteran and was referred to a Veterans Community Care Provider, Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular in Elizabeth City, NC for a Nuclear Stress Test because the VA Hospital is 65 miles away from where I live. I arrived early on 2/27/25 to fill out new patient paperwork and was then completely ignored for the next hour past my scheduled appointment. After every other patient had been seen and then all those who came after me as well, I finally asked the receptionist if I was going to be seen soon. She was otherwise distracted but eventually asked the blond lady next to her for an update. That Nurse or Manager told me they were just now starting to input my information and
couldn't tell me how long it would take until they could see me. When I politely asked if it could be as much as another hour she curtly replied "It could be an hour, or maybe more!" I canceled my appointment and left.
This is the problem that has changed healthcare. Patients with health issue are nothing more than a payment source. I went home and reported Eastern Carolina Cardiovascular of Elizabeth City to the Veterans Administration. Very inferior and impersonal customer care!
