Catawba Valley Cardiology

The staff at this office is incredible. From the front desk to the physicians, PA's, nurses etc. I wish I didn't need a cardiologist, but I am really blessed this is where I ended up. Thank you

Dr. Hicks is a great cardiologist. He spent so much time with me and my mom. He explained so many things that we had never been told by her former cardiologist.

UPDATE: Yesterday, I got a phone call from the person in charge of the scheduling for CVC. She explained to me issues they were having with scheduling for my doctor in particular due to his busy schedule and medical commitments outside of the CVC office. To her credit, she was very personable and understanding to my concerns. Although she had no solutions to offer at present on how they were going to address these scheduling issues, she at least explained why there was an issue. So kudos to her for the phone call! Hopefully, she/they, whoever can come up with all workable solution. But I will at least give her 's for calling! Well, as fate would have it a couple of years ago, I developed an AFib heart issue, and my GP doctor recommended I see Dr. Vincent Pompili with Catawba Valley Cardiology. So I went and was very pleased with this doctor and his plan to help me with my heart issues. Here's my gripe - how they schedule appointments! I noticed the first time I went, and I was told I would be contacted at a later date for my next appointment. I never was contacted, and eventually, I called them myself and got an appointment well past the 6 months I was supposed to be seen by my doctor. Then, on my last visit, my doctor told me I would not need to see him for a year. I WAS happy with that! Well, this past January, I called and asked to set up an appointment to see Dr. Pompili in April, a year being up that month. I was told that they were not taking appointments that far in advance, to call back in mid-March, and they would make me an appointment. Well, it's mid-March today, and I just called and guess what? He's all booked up in April. I asked if I could make an appointment in early May. Nope, they are not taking appointments that far in advance! The best they can do is make me an appointment with a PA in April - which is what I had to settle for! SMH! Health care decorum just sucks these days!

Mu pulmonologist wanted me to have a echo done here. My echo tech was great. Although she had me sign a consent for AFTER the test. She also recommended some sort of injectable chemical to make the images better. This was an option. This was not ordered by my doctor, she had no idea if insurance would cover it and had no idea the cost if not covered. I don't blame it on her. It is typical CVMC administrative garbage. I despise this hospital organization. Although I live just a few miles from them, in an emergency, I would rather pay the ambulance to take me to Frye and risk dying instead of going to this poor excuse of a medical organization. It was several years ago this hospital treaty me poorly, and nothing has really changed. But my echo tech was fantastic.

The people that you trust with your heart health make so many mistakes it makes you wonder how much care you expect to get last Friday they put betty littles name on my dad's address and now we are getting her appointments, lol, what if that was her test results, HIPA violation
