WakeMed Cary Hospital

I had a great experience during my recent appendectomy here. Even though the ER was busy, I was triaged quickly and settled into a comfortable room within 20-30 minutes. The nurses were attentive, caring, and kept me updated through every step. When I learned I needed surgery, everyone was reassuring and answered all my questions. My overnight room was very comfortable, and the round-the-clock care was excellent. Surgery went smoothly the next morning, and I was discharged that afternoon. For such an unexpected and scary situation, the staff made it one of the best hospital experiences I've had. Highly recommend.

I came in with very uncomfortable symptoms, and once I was finally brought back, RN Raj B made my experience go very smoothly. Despite it being a busy night, the services I needed were provided as quickly as possible. His uplifting personality and compassionate care truly helped lift my spirits during a stressful time. Raj B is a true asset to WakeMed Cary and deserves recognition for his professionalism, kindness, and dedication to patient care.

I brought my mom in suspecting a stroke and the ER staff were quick to take her in for an assessment. The ER team was great. She was admitted and we got a suite on the third floor which was nice to have a private bathroom and pull out bed for family to stay with her overnight. Everything was extremely clean. The nurses, PT, and OT were all so incredibly nice, encouraging and attentive. They kept my mom in good spirits and we are just overall really impressed with their care.

I'm writing this review as a parent who is still shaken by what happened to my son at WakeMed. I want other families to know what we went through so they can make informed decisions. My son was sent home while still clearly sick, and despite me telling them his full allergy history, a provider attempted to give him a medication he is documented to be allergic to. That alone was terrifying. What made everything worse is that I have a recording of the WakeMed provider saying one thing in the room, but the medical note written afterward says something completely different. The two don't match at all. As a healthcare professional myself, that is deeply concerning. Accurate documentation matters -- especially when it involves a child's care and safety. This entire experience has left me with serious concerns about the quality of care, communication, and safety procedures in place. No parent should have to fight this hard to keep their child safe in a hospital. I genuinely hope WakeMed reviews this situation, takes responsibility, and makes changes so no other family goes through what we did.

Had this Doctor last night he was horrible. I had a horrible migraine my pain was a 10/10. I asked for my usual migraine cocktail and he wouldn't give it to me not even iv fluids. All he wanted to give me was lidocaine stuff to snort up my nose.. he acted so unprofessional he raised his voice at me while walking away from me saying he wasn't giving me anything else... horrible experience I've never had a Dr so rude and ignorant. He asked me what works for my migraines I told him and he denied it . Like what's the point of asking me? If you have him as a Dr good luck ...
