The doctor is knowledgeable, front staff is very kind, easy to get an appointment however the sonographer should not be working with children as she is cold, impatient and rude. I've had two separate visits, both times it was the same woman and same experience.
The first with my 3 month old baby a few months ago. The tech quickly became frustrated with her and snippy telling me I needed to keep her still. My daughter didn't cry or fuss, was in a pleasant mood, stayed on her back, but yes babies are going to wiggle. I was actually very impressed with how my baby did but the tech made it seem like she was being uncooperative and a nuisance. I gave her the benefit of the doubt..maybe she was having a rough day -- though still no excuse.
Last week I brought my older two daughters. Again, front staff was nice and the girl who did their EKG was playful, warm and kind.. what one would hope for someone working with children. We get back to do their echo and it's the same woman who again was super rude from the start. Didnt introduce herself, snapped back at my girls who expressed feeling uncomfortable with taking their shirts off, never explained anything about what she was doing, and made my oldest daughter (7) burst into tears because she pressed too hard down on her neck with the wand. My girls are well behaved and followed directions. I would hate to know how she treats children who fidget or struggle in any way. She clearly must hate her job, children, or both.
I emailed the practice that day expressing how upset I was and never heard back. Despite the doctor being knowledgeable, I wouldn't go back or recommend solely because of the sonographer.

Went in November 2024 with my 9 week old baby to get a heart murmur checked. All staff was extremely friendly - the front desk workers were kind, we saw 2 techs and Dr. Bonney and everyone was lovely, had great bedside manner, and made two nervous parents feel comfortable.

I took three out of my four children there recently within the last 3 months. I've seen other pediatric cardiologists in the past with one of my children plus I've seen cardiologists and electrophysiologists too for myself since I was 18 years old and had to get a peacemaker at that age. I felt very comfortable in the office, the tests they ran on my children, and talking with the best pediatric cardiologist I've ever met before. He is by far the best. He was great with talking to you about certain conditions and explained everything well and if I had a question, he knew the answer. I wish he was my cardiologist, I'm seeming to have bad luck with finding a good cardiologist /electrophysiologist myself now and in my past.

Update:
Dr. Bonney called and wanted to find out more about our experience. He offered another appointment for my son to see a different ultrasound tech and to get better data. The fact that he called to personally address my poor experience really means a lot. If you are looking for a pediatric cardiologist I would say he's a good pick. Just come prepared if you have an infant especially if he/she gets fussy.
First off, Dr. Bonney was fine. He was nice and informative. He explained his reasoning for not being concerned. Even his front office staff were nice and friendly. My issue was with the office and the ultrasound tech. The ultrasound tech was rude and not understanding at all. Mind you I have 2 other kids. Never had to take my kids to a cardiologist. When I made the appointment I was under the impression they would do some mild tests and discuss the potential issue. Nope, they did andWhis fine but would be helpful to tell patients that before their appointments so they are prepared especially for small babies like my 2 month old. Anyway, when we arrived to the 12:30 appointment I had to circle around to the other side bc the door had a sign saying it was the employee entrance . Ok that was fine. Going to front door no ramp for a stroller. Again, also fine but inconvenient. When I enter the office I immediately walked into a chair with someone waiting with their child. Just smack dab in the doorway. No space to maneuver around and the rude individual didn't budge or move their feet so I could get around. My point being, the layout of the waiting area definitely needs improvement. After checking in, filling out paperwork and being called back for the appointment we went to a room and my son got hooked up for an ekg. It went well. For a baby, it went really well. No crying and no fussiness. When he was done w the ekg the nurse said we could go back to the waiting area for the ultrasound. When the ultrasound tech called us back we went back to a dim room w the ultrasound machine. I laid my son down on the bed and at first he was fine. Even when she put the gel on his chest he didn't scream. After a little bit, he started to get fussy and she asked if I had a bottle. I said no bc I had just fed him. She stared at me in disbelief as if I should've known to bring one. Even if I had a bottle it wouldn't have helped. He was scared and didn't understand what was happening. He's 2 months old. Anyway, she said if he didn't calm down she won't be able to do anything. And said it threatening as if I had a way to control a 2 month old. While he was screaming crying she told me I could pick him up. Meanwhile he's covered in gel and gives me nothing to wipes him with. I wiped him with his burp clothe and tried to calm him down. She walked away with an attitude and when she was gone the dr came in to check what the crying was about. He asked if he ever saw a cardiologist before (as if that mattered. He's a baby. He would cry regardless) When the tech came back she told the dr she was done bc she couldn't get anything if he was crying like that. He took her aside and talked to her behind the door. When she came back in she didn't say anything and tried again. No words were said. Didn't say she was done or if it wasn't possible. By then, she directed us to a room and said the dr would come in to talk to me. At that point I wanted to leave. Was so frustrated and stressed out for no reason. When we went out to leave we had to again maneuver our way through people sitting and waiting with their legs stretched out and toys and a train table. Had to physically move the table and toys to actually get to the door. Was a horrible experience. After all was said and done, the dr said he wasn't concerned about his murmur and can come back in a year to recheck it. In a year, we certainly won't be coming back here. This place needs to do better educating staff on how to take care of children if it is a pediatric office. The ultrasound tech should be ashamed of herself.

I left the doctor's office today completely confused and speechless. I waited 3+ weeks for an appointment. Initially, every single staff was courteous and everything was going well with my daughter. As the visit commenced the doctor said "it's (her heart murmur) as irrelevant as having curly hair." Both my daughter and I have a head full of curly hair. And now I'm perplexed. I've never been this baffled to be honest.
